Sonolytic debromination of ambroxol process wastewater

Water Research, 2003
In this study ultrasound was examined in terms of its effectiveness in treating wastewater containing ambroxol and process water from ambroxol synthesis. The organic bromine contents of the water samples investigated were in the 20-1200 mg l(-1) range. Ultrasound is capable to debrominate the ambroxol molecule rendering it biologically degradable.

Quantitative determination of ambroxol hydrochloride in tablets

Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, 1993
Ambroxol [truns-4-(2-amino-3,5dibromobenzylamino)cyclohexanol], as the hydrochloride, is used as a mucolytic and expectorant drug. Ambroxol hydrochloride is marketed in Indonesia as tablets and syrup [l]. There are no analytical specifications for ambroxol hydrochloride in the USP XXII [2], the BP 1988 [3] or the DAB IX [4]. Brizzi and Pasetti [5] have

Dose-dependent uricosuric effect of ambroxol

European Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, 1993
Ambroxol is known to promote bronchial secretion and is used as an expectorant. Previous studies had suggested that high doses of ambroxol could reduce the plasma uric acid concentration. The present study was undertaken to confirm this finding, to determine its dose-response relationship and to identify the underlying mechanism of action.

[Modification of mucociliary clearance by a combination of theophylline with ambroxol and of ambroxol in monotherapy].

Arzneimittel-Forschung, 1988
Influence on Mucociliary Clearance by a Theophylline-Ambroxol Combination and by Ambroxol in Monotherapy. In a controlled randomised double-blind study the influence of theophylline + ambroxol (TA) and ambroxol (A) on lung function and mucociliary clearance was investigated.

Ambroxol is Effective for Corneal Pain in Rats

Journal of Ocular Pharmacology and Therapeutics
Purpose: Ambroxol is a high-potency inhibitor of voltage-gated sodium channels Nav1.7 and Nav1.8 responsible for nociceptive and neuropathic pain. This study investigated the analgesic property of ambroxol on corneal pain in rats as well as its toxicity on human corneal epithelial cells.
