Physiological and behavioural effects of continuous remifentanil‐xylazine administration in donkeys
Abstract Background Remifentanil and xylazine are used as continuous infusions to facilitate standing surgery in horses. Their use for this purpose has not been reported in donkeys. Objectives To evaluate the behavioural, sedative, and cardiorespiratory effects of continuous intravenous infusion of remifentanil and xylazine in donkeys. Study Design Non‐

A nanoscale drug delivery system is developed to improve how an antipsychotic reaches the brain. Using computer‐guided design, mixed micelles are engineered to enhance drug solubility and nasal transport. The system shows improved release and effectiveness in animal models, reducing symptoms while maintaining brain safety and structure.

ABSTRACT Objectives Circadian rhythms influence activity cycles in humans, and circadian rhythm disruption (CRD) can negatively impact cardiometabolic disease risk and microbiome composition. This study documented CRD in a sample of nurses in Philadelphia, examining connections between CRD, disease risk, and work environment factors, proposing the ...

External validation of the BAN‐ADHF diuretic‐resistance score in the DAPA‐RESIST clinical trial
Diuretic resistance in worsening heart failure (HF) is associated with poorer outcomes and, although common, can be challenging to identify. The recently developed BAN‐ADHF score can potentially identify patients with worsening HF at risk of diuretic resistance.
