Development of a Miniaturized Capillary Rheometer for High Shear Rate Rheology of Dense Suspensions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This research presents a downscaled benchtop, low‐cost capillary rheometer that can characterize high shear rate rheometry of dense suspensions. The device is capable of measuring across a wide range of applicable shear rates using only a limited quantity of material and addresses a need for an accurate and affordable capillary rheometer.

Shake Test of a Propeller Test Rig in the 40- by 80-Foot Wind Tunnel [PDF]

open access: yes
A shake test was conducted to determine the dynamic characteristics of a propeller test rig in the Ames 40- by 80-Foot Wind Tunnel. The rotor off hub transfer function (acceleration per unit force as a function of frequency) was measured in the ...

Mg(SPh)2 as a Catalyst for Efficient Photocatalytic Alkylation Reactions of Active Methylene Compounds with Nonactivated Alkenes

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, Volume 367, Issue 5, March 4, 2025.
Abstract Mg(SPh)2 has been found to be a highly active catalyst in photocatalytic alkylation reactions of active methylene compounds with nonactivated alkenes. The desired reactions proceeded smoothly to afford the corresponding alkylated products in high yields with low catalyst loadings (0.2–0.3 mol%). This protocol is applicable to a continuous‐flow

Hover and forward flight acoustics and performance of a small-scale helicopter rotor system [PDF]

open access: yes
A 2.1-m diam., 1/6-scale model helicopter main rotor was tested in hover in the test section of the NASA Ames 40- by 80- Foot Wind Tunnel. Subsequently, it was tested in forward flight in the Ames 7- by 10-Foot Wind Tunnel.
