Study of the mapping of Navier-Stokes algorithms onto multiple-instruction/multiple-data-stream computers [PDF]

open access: yes
Implicit approximate-factored algorithms have certain properties that are suitable for parallel processing. A particular computational fluid dynamics (CFD) code, using this algorithm, is mapped onto a multiple-instruction/multiple-data-stream (MIMD ...

All‐in‐One Underwater Quality Evaluation Metamaterial With Mechanical Robustness, Sound Attenuation, and Diffuse Reflection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this work, a bioinspired all‐in‐one underwater quality evaluation metamaterial, combining sound attenuation, diffuse reflection, and mechanical robustness, is proposed based on jumping spider locomotion and human skeletal biomechanics. Meanwhile, a CNN‑driven quality evaluation framework is established for theoretically dimension‐reduced ...

Experimental research of the aerodynamics of nozzles and plumes at hypersonic speeds [PDF]

open access: yes
The purpose was to experimentally characterize the flow field created by the interaction of a single expansion ramp nozzle (SERN) flow with a hypersonic external stream.

Superatom Distortion Induces Triferroicity and Spin Splitting in Two‐Dimensional Antiferromagnets

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The incorporation of superatoms into a 2D square lattice induces symmetry breaking, thereby enabling concurrent coupling among magnetism, ferroelectricity, and ferroelasticity. This strategy achieves triferroic behavior—characterized by spin‐split antiferromagnetic ground states—and offers a viable pathway toward energy‐efficient spintronic devices ...

Experiments in a three-dimensional adaptive-wall wind tunnel [PDF]

open access: yes
Three dimensional adaptive-wall experiments were performed in the Ames Research Center (ARC) 25- by 13-cm indraft wind tunnel. A semispan wing model was mounted to one sidewall of a test section with solid sidewalls, and slotted top and bottom walls. The

Interfacially Reinforced Crosslinked Binder with Structural Integrity for Stable Micro‐Sized Silicon Anodes in All‐solid‐state Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT All‐solid‐state batteries (ASSBs) have attracted considerable attention as next‐generation energy storage systems owing to their high energy density and safety. However, their performance is critically limited by insufficient solid–solid interfacial contact and severe chemomechanical degradation, particularly for micro‐sized silicon (µSi ...

In Situ Elucidations of the Mechanism for Inert Molecular N2O Decomposition at Low Temperature Catalyzed by High‐Index Interfacial Exposed Co3O4

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops a co‐precipitation followed by hydrothermal synthesis strategy for synthesizing Co3O4 catalyst with multiple high‐index facets. Experiments and density functional theory calculations demonstrate that Co3+ on the (400–400) facet can form a novel active Co3+‐O* motif during the reaction.
