Horizontal subsurface flow constructed wetlands for mitigation of ametryn-contaminated water [PDF]
The feasibility of using constructed wetlands (CWs) for the mitigation of pesticide runoff has been studied in the last decade. However, a lack of related data was verified when subsurface flow constructed wetlands (SSF CWs) are considered for this ...

Weed control with preemergence Ametryn in Arracacia xanthorrhiza
Two experiments were performed from 1985 to 1987 at Barranquitas in a Humatas soil to evaluate Ametryn (Evik 80 W) for preemergence control of weeds in Peruvian carrot or arradacha (Arracacia xanthorrhiza Banc). Five treatments were evaluated: Ametryn at 4.98, 8.97 and 17.94 kg ai/ha; a hand-weeded check (hoeing); and non-weeded check.

Susceptibility Among Populations of Crabgrass to Herbicides Inhibiting Photosystem II [PDF]
: Weed interference reduces the productive potential of crops. Among the control methods used, chemical ones occupy a major position. The repeated application of the same mechanism of action selects tolerant plants.

ABSTRACT Dielectric barrier discharge ionization (DBDI) sources, employing low‐temperature plasma, have emerged as sensitive and efficient ionization tools with various atmospheric pressure ionization processes. In this review, we summarize a historical overview of the development of DBDI, highlighting key principles of gas‐phase ion chemistry and the ...

The “Pesticide Chip”: Chemical Legacies and Agrarian Futures in Costa Rica
Abstract For decades, agro‐industrial capital has adopted cascading chemical and biotechnical interventions, or fixes, to secure accumulation through the cultivation of monocrops. We develop a framework that centres on how monocrop‐induced susceptibility to pests and pathogens—and the patchwork of fixes to address these—produces uneven chemical ...
