Amino-acid Composition of Hæmoglobin E
Nature, 1956IN 1955, some of us published the results of the determination of the amino-acid composition of haemoglobins A, B (also known as S), C and F1–3. In that work we used a modification of the column chromatographic method of Stein and Moore. We were recently able to study a family of which some members are carriers of haemoglobin E.

Amino-acid composition in trichorrhexis nodosa
Clinical and Experimental Dermatology, 1990Trichorrhexis nodosa is a common shaft defect affecting scalp hair. Two-hundred scalp hairs exhibiting trichorrhexis nodosa were obtained from two normal females; samples were prepared from proximal shaft, pre-nodule, nodule and post-nodule sections and analysed for their respective amino-acid compositions.

Amino acid composition of pinniped milk
Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part B: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, 1995The total amino acid concentration and the amino acid pattern, i.e. the relative proportion of each amino acid (protein-bound plus free) to the total amino acids, in the milks of the Northern elephant seal, Antarctic fur seal, California sea lion, and Australian sea lion were determined.

Amino acid composition in Isoparorchis hypselobagri
Zeitschrift fr Parasitenkunde, 1976The free amino acids of Isoparorchis hypselobagri have been determined by the chromatographic method (two-dimensional ascending). These are: leucine, valine, proline, alanine, glycine, glutamic acid and aspartic acid.

Amino acid composition of Iraqi dates
Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, 1967AbstractEighteen free and bound amino acids of three commercially packed varieties of Iraqi dates—Hallawi, Khadrawi, and Sayir—were quantitatively determined by means of an automatic amino acid analyser. The following essential amino acids had protein scores lower than 100%: phenylalanine plus tyrosine, isoleucine, lysine, and valine.

Amino-acid Composition of Thymus Histone
Nature, 1951IN the course of our work on the chemistry of the constituents of the cell nucleus, nucleoprotein has been extracted from cell nuclei of normal and tumour tissue and fractionated into three main components: nucleic acid, the basic ‘histone’ protein and an acid-insoluble protein residue1.
