Zwitterion ratios of aminobenzoic acids
Australian Journal of Chemistry, 1969Relations have been established between the pKa values for the non- zwitterionic forms of meta- and para-aminobenzoic acids, pKB, and the pKa values of the corresponding methyl and ethyl esters, pKE. For methyl m-aminobenzoate, the expression is pKB = pKE + 0.09, whilst for the ethyl ester it is pKB = pKE + 0.03.

PARA-AMINOBENZOIC ACID AND INDOLE METABOLISM
Archives of Dermatology, 1948FOR THE past few years I have in private practice prescribed paraaminobenzoic acid in a variety of dermatoses, including hair and scalp conditions. A surprisingly common subjective response to this therapy has been a feeling of greater vigor, a loss of tired or enervated states. Some patients were so impressed with this result that they sought guidance

Biotransformation of para-aminobenzoic acid and salicylic acid by PMN
Free Radical Biology and Medicine, 1993Para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA) is an essential cofactor for the production of folic acid in bacteria and has mild anti-inflammatory activity. We have recently reported that salicylic acid and benzoic acid are oxidized by stimulated granulocytes Polymorphonuclear Neutrophils (PMN).

p-Aminobenzoic acid as a stimulator of angiogenesis
Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine, 1996p-Aminobenzoic acid (0.002 and 0.005% in a volume of 0.1 ml) stimulates angiogenesis in the yolk sac of chick embryos. It is more effective in a concentration of 0.005%, significantly increasing the length and branching of large vessels (by 27–33% and 35–43%, respectively) in comparison with the control (injection of 0.1 ml normal saline).
