The distribution of p-aminohippuric acid in rat kidney slices. II. Depth of uptake

open access: bronzeKidney International, 1973
The distribution of p-aminohippuric acid in rat kidney slices. II. Depth of uptake. Section freeze-dry autoradiography was used to measure the depth to which concentrative uptake of PAH-3H occurs within rat renal cortical slices in vitro under conditions of varied incubation time, temperature and PAH medium concentration.

The distribution of p-aminohippuric acid in rat kidney slices. I. Tubular localization

open access: bronzeKidney International, 1973
The distribution of p-aminohippuric acid in rat kidney slices. I. Tubular localization. Tubular localization of tritiated p-aminohippuric acid (PAH) was determined by section freeze-dry autoradiography in rat renal cortical slices in vitro. Autoradiographs were also prepared from tissue after incubation in tritiated alpha-aminoisobutyric acid (AIB ...

Novel odd-chain cyclopropane fatty acids: detection in a mammalian lipidome and uptake by hepatosplanchnic tissues. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Lipid Res
Microbe-produced molecules (xenometabolites) found in foods or produced by gut microbiota are increasingly implicated in microbe-microbe and microbe-host communication.

The change of p-aminohippuric acid disposition kinetics accompanied by growth in mice.

open access: bronzeJournal of Pharmacobio-Dynamics, 1985
The change of disposition kinetics for p-aminohippuric acid (PAH) was studied following intravenous administration of p-[glycyl-1-14C]aminohippuric acid to 1-day-old, 1-week-old, 3-week-old and 8-week-old mice. The expiratory excretion of 14CO2 in 24 h following the administration was almost negligible in 1-day-old and 1-week-old mice in contrast to 3 ...

Relationship of Thyroid Function with Renal Hemodynamics and Cholesterol Metabolism in Proteinuric Kidney Disease: A Pilot Study [PDF]

open access: yesMetabolites
Nephrotic syndrome and hypothyroidism are respectively reported to influence renal hemodynamics and hypercholesterolemia. However, the relationship of proteinuria-associated thyroid function with renal hemodynamics and cholesterol metabolism has yet to ...

Chemical assay of p-aminohippuric acid simplified by use of dimethylaminocinnamaldehyde in ethanol.

open access: bronzeClinical Chemistry, 1988
Abstract We have developed a new and simple method of p-aminohippuric acid determination by use of dimethylaminocinnamaldehyde (DACA). It differs from previous methods using DACA in that the reaction is carried out in ethanol rather than in dilute acid. This results in deeper and more stable color development.
