Blood L‐cystine levels positively related to increased risk of hypertension [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Clinical Hypertension, Volume 26, Issue 12, Page 1411-1423, December 2024.
Abstract Hypertension is one component of metabolic syndrome (MetS). Here, the study evaluated hypertension‐associated metabolites in relation to other MetS components. Fasting plasma samples were collected from 22 hypertensive and 63 normotensive subjects for non‐targeted metabolomics.

The change of p-aminohippuric acid disposition kinetics accompanied by growth in mice.

open access: bronzeJournal of Pharmacobio-Dynamics, 1985
The change of disposition kinetics for p-aminohippuric acid (PAH) was studied following intravenous administration of p-[glycyl-1-14C]aminohippuric acid to 1-day-old, 1-week-old, 3-week-old and 8-week-old mice. The expiratory excretion of 14CO2 in 24 h following the administration was almost negligible in 1-day-old and 1-week-old mice in contrast to 3 ...

Chemical assay of p-aminohippuric acid simplified by use of dimethylaminocinnamaldehyde in ethanol.

open access: bronzeClinical Chemistry, 1988
Abstract We have developed a new and simple method of p-aminohippuric acid determination by use of dimethylaminocinnamaldehyde (DACA). It differs from previous methods using DACA in that the reaction is carried out in ethanol rather than in dilute acid. This results in deeper and more stable color development.

Relationship of Thyroid Function with Renal Hemodynamics and Cholesterol Metabolism in Proteinuric Kidney Disease: A Pilot Study [PDF]

open access: yesMetabolites
Nephrotic syndrome and hypothyroidism are respectively reported to influence renal hemodynamics and hypercholesterolemia. However, the relationship of proteinuria-associated thyroid function with renal hemodynamics and cholesterol metabolism has yet to ...

Surface modification with P-aminohippuric acid on biogenic apatite (fish bones) particles

open access: yesMarine Science and Technology Bulletin, 2014
The aim of this study with fish bones as a waste in fish processing is to investigate whether they can provide more efficient and multi-functional materials by chemical modification.

Measurement of kidney perfusion by magnetic resonance imaging: comparison of MRI with arterial spin labeling to para-aminohippuric acid plasma clearance in male subjects with metabolic syndrome [PDF]

open access: bronzeNephrology, Dialysis and Transplantation, 2009
BACKGROUND Magnetic resonance imaging with arterial spin labeling (MRI-ASL) is a non-invasive approach to measure organ perfusion. We aimed to examine whether MRI-ASL kidney perfusion measurements are related to measurements of renal plasma flow (RPF) by

Simultaneous administration of a cocktail of markers to measure renal drug elimination pathways: absence of a pharmacokinetic interaction between fluconazole and sinistrin, p‐aminohippuric acid and pindolol [PDF]

open access: bronzeBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, 2001
AIMS Previous studies suggest that estimated creatinine clearance, the conventional measure of renal function, does not adequately reflect changes in renal drug handling in some patients, including the immunosuppressed.

STUDIES IN PARA-AMINOHIPPURIC ACID SYNTHESIS IN THE HUMAN: ITS APPLICATION AS A LIVER FUNCTION TEST [PDF]

open access: bronzeJournal of Clinical Investigation, 1950
Synthesis of p-aminohippuric acid (PAH) from p-aminobenzoic acid (PAB) in animal liver slices and homogenates has been shown to resemble closely, both chemically and thermodynamically, the synthesis of peptides This reaction synthesis ...
