Real‐World Effects of Home‐Based Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation in Depression: A Randomized Controlled Trial of 3‐Week Versus 6‐Week Protocols

In this randomized controlled trial, both 3‐week and 6‐week home‐based tDCS protocols effectively reduced depressive symptoms, with no significant difference between the two. Cognitive performance, as measured by the DSST, improved over time in both groups. Adverse events were mild and varied by the type of concurrent psychotropic medication.

ABSTRACT Multiple system atrophy (MSA) is a progressive adult‐onset neurodegenerative disorder that manifests as a variable combination of cerebellar, parkinsonian, and autonomic dysfunctions. We report a case of a 52‐year‐old woman who presented with rapidly progressive gait ataxia, dysarthria, orthostatic hypotension, and urinary urgency.
