2D Conductive MOFs Intercalated in MXene Interlayer for Fast and Trace Detection of Triethylamine at Room Temperature

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents alternating MXene@Cu‐HHTP (HHTP = 2,3,6,7,10,11‐hexahydroxytriphenylene) heterostructures with a sandwich‐like architecture, combining 2D conductive metal–organic frameworks (2D‐cMOFs) and Ti3C2TX MXene to enhance triethylamine (TEA) sensing. The composite achieves rapid response (4 s at 50 ppm), ultralow detection limit (1 ppm), 21‐

Natural Toolbox–Chemical Engineering Aspect and High‐Value Applications of Janus Cellulose Nanomaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The Tai Ji symbol from China represents the co‐existence of two opposite substances, similar to quantum entanglement. The term Janus comes from ancient Roman religion and mythology. Janus, the god of beginnings, transitions, etc., has two faces, symbolizing duality. Janus cellulose nanomaterials show structural duality.

Releasing 8.0 wt.% H2 from the LiBH4−2LiNH2 Composite within 5 Min under Light Illumination

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The N−H bond in the [NH2]− ion group is significantly weakened by the non‐thermal effect of UV light, leading to a 60‐fold increase in dehydrogenation rate at the same temperature. As a result, over 8.0 wt.% H2 is released within 5 min. Abstract The absence of safe and efficient hydrogen storage technologies is the major bottleneck for widespread ...

Multivariate Covalent Organic Frameworks for High‐Performance Ammonia Nitrogen Separation: Structure‐Property‐Function Relationships

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Theoretically, this study provides new insights into the atomic‐level adsorption mechanisms and structure‐property‐function relationships of sulfonated COFs for boosting ammonia nitrogen separation. Practically, the findings of this study can guide the design and optimization of COFs and other porous crystalline adsorbents to enhance the capture and ...

Non‐Respiratory Extracellular Electron Transfer Competes with Nitrogenase for Electrons in Rhodopseudomonas Palustris

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops a photosynthetic bioelectrochemical nitrogen fixation system for simultaneous nitrogen fixation and current generation using Rhodopseudomonas palustris. Notably, extracellular electron transfer (EET) serves as a redox balancing strategy, suppressing nitrogen fixation by competing with nitrogenase for electrons.
