Radical Chemistry in a Femtosecond Laser Plasma: Photochemical Reduction of Ag+ in Liquid Ammonia Solution [PDF]
Plasmas with dense concentrations of reactive species such as hydrated electrons and hydroxyl radicals are generated from focusing intense femtosecond laser pulses into aqueous media. These radical species can reduce metal ions such as Au3+ to form metal

Compaction and Melt Transport in Ammonia-Rich Ice Shells: Implications for the Evolution of Triton [PDF]
Ammonia, if present in the ice shells of icy satellites, could lower the temperature for the onset of melting to 176 K and create a large temperature range where partial melt is thermally stable. The evolution of regions of ammonia-rich partial melt could strongly influence the geological and thermal evolution of icy bodies.

The kinetic temperature of a molecular cloud at redshift 0.9: Ammonia in the gravitational lens PKS1830-211 [PDF]
Using the Green Bank Telescope (GBT), we have detected the (J,K) = (1,1) to (10,10) ammonia inversion lines, up to 1030 K above the ground state, in a face-on spiral galaxy viewed against the radio continuum of the lensed background source PKS 1830-211. The ammonia absorption lines, seen at redshift 0.886, appear to be optically thin with absolute peak

Ornithine-catalyzed urea formation in liver homogenate [PDF]
Heretofore attempts to obtain synthesis of urea from ammonia (and carbon dioxide) in cell-free extracts have been unsuccessful. We have found the reaction to proceed in guinea pig liver homogenate.
