The direct synthesis of ammonia [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Royal Society of London. Series A, Containing Papers of a Mathematical and Physical Character, 1905
Abstract It was shown in a recent paper on “ The Decomposition of Ammonia by Heat,”* that ammonia is decomposed almost (if not quite) completely when heated in a porcelain vessel at about 800° to 1100°, and that there is no sign of equilibrium between the ammonia and its decomposition products at any of the temperatures employed, 677°

COFs on MOFs: Layer‐by‐Layer Synthesis of MOF@COF Nanoparticles with Synergistic Adsorption

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A layer‐by‐layer strategy enables the growth of crystalline covalent organic framework (COF) shells on metal–organic framework nanoparticles, creating core–shell structures with tunable porosity. Ordered interstitial mesopores are formed during shell growth, which are connected with the COF's intrinsic micropores, thereby enhancing water sorption. This

Polymorph‐Specific Electronic Transduction in WO3 during Molecular Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐oxide polymorphs with similar surface chemistry can nevertheless exhibit distinct sensing properties. In γ‐ and ε‐WO3, analyte adsorption appears comparable; yet, only ε‐WO3 induces a pronounced lattice electronic perturbation that accommodates charge in sub‐conduction band minimum states.

A Study on the Application of Computer Process Simulation Technology in Ammonia Synthesis

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2017
A chemical process simulation software, AspenPlus, is applied to simulate the ammonia synthesis in the ammonia production process. A reasonable unit operating model is selected, and the RKS-BM thermodynamic method is adopted for calculations.

Bubble Formation Control: Fabrication of Centimeter‐Sized Tissue‐Like Constructs by Catalase‐Coated Oxygen‐Releasing Hydrogel

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Oxygen‐releasing hydrogels are widely used to support cell survival in 3D cultures and to promote wound healing. However, incorporating catalase to convert H2O2 into O2 often generates additional oxygen bubbles, leading to material instability which rarely addressed.

Electrochemical Synthesis of Ammonia Using Fe3Mo3N Catalyst and Carbonate-Oxide Composite Electrolyte

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2015
Iron molybdenum nitride catalyst (Fe3Mo3N) was synthesised via a temperature-programmed reduction (TPR) of the corresponding precursor by flowing pure ammonia gas. The catalyst was characterised by x-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy
