Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 2004
In the title compound, NH(4)(+).C(10)H(9)O(3)(-), bimolecular layers of the anions are formed between layers of the cations. There are N-H.O hydrogen bonds between the ammonium ion and the carboxylate groups of the anions. In the crystal structure, the C=C moiety of the cinnamate ion makes an angle of 117.1 (2) degrees with that of the nearest ...

Ammonia (ammonium ion under physiological conditions) is one of the key nitrogen sources in cellular amino acid biosynthesis. It is continuously produced in living organisms by a number of biochemical processes, but its accumulation in cells leads to tissue damage.

Ammonium 4-nitrophenylarsonate
Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 2002In the crystal structure of the title compound, (NH(4))[AsO(2)(OH)(C(6)H(4)NO(2))], the 4-nitrophenylarsonate anions and ammonium cations are linked through hydrogen bonds to form infinite chains along the b axis. The hydroxyl O atom of the 4-nitrophenylarsonate anion acts as both an acceptor and a donor of hydrogen bonds.

Ammonium perchlorate and ammonium perchlorate-binder sandwich combustion
12th Aerospace Sciences Meeting, 1974order of 300 \i in width. The deflagration of all three burners appeared laminar, with a definite temperature peak above the center of the burner. The PP-COMM AP had a scalloped surface which accounted for a more unsteady appearance of the gas flow above the deflagrating AP. A yellow-green zone was visible within the SC-UHP AP extending from the burner

AbstractThe results of density and viscosity measurements are given for ammonium nitrate and the salt mixtures ammonium nitrate—potassium chloride and ammonium nitrate‐ammonium dihydrogen phosphate. The latter system is complicated because of the formation of non‐ortho phosphates and the results obtained refer to the equilibrium mixture obtained after ...

Characterization of ammonium absorption by ammonium-preferential cassava
Journal of Plant PhysiologyCassava plants can adapt to poor soils where most other crops are unable to grow normally, suggesting that they are able to efficiently uptake and utilize nutrient elements from the soils. However, little is known about the mechanism of nutrient efficiency in the crop.

Scattering of Cold Neutrons in Ammonium Carbonate, Ammonium Citrate, and Ammonium Acetate
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1967Neutron-energy-gain spectra have been measured in (NH4)2CO3, (NH4)2HC6H5O7, and NH4C2H3O2 at 20°C using the Brookhaven slow-chopper facility. Each spectrum exhibits two peaks that are characteristic of optical modes. The spectra of ammonium carbonate and ammonium citrate are similar to those of the body-centered-cubic lattice phase of the ammonium ...
