Abstract Objective The aim of this study was to evaluate the maternal and neonatal outcomes of patients with oligohydramnios attempting a trial of labor after cesarean (TOLAC) versus those who underwent planned repeat cesarean delivery (PRCD). Methods We conducted a multicenter retrospective cohort study of patients with a term singleton pregnancy ...

Blockade of Digestion by Famotidine\ud Pretreatment Does Not Interfere With the Opioid-Enhancing\ud Effect of Ingested Amniotic Fluid [PDF]
Ingestion of placenta or amniotic fluid by rats has been shown to enhance ongoing opioid-mediated antinociception, but does not, by itself, produce antinociception.

Abstract Objective Data regarding the efficiency of amnioinfusion in the presence of recurrent variable decelerations (VD) are limited. Total deceleration area (TDA) has been shown to be a useful indicator of both intrapartum fetal acid–base status and neonatal morbidity.

Current trends and challenges in amniotic fluid of biomarkers in trace amounts
The dynamic changes of amniotic fluid during pregnancy are crucial for the development, protection, defense and nutrition of the fetus. Amniotic fluid contains a variety of trace biomarkers, such as microRNA, free DNA, reactive oxygen species ...

Metastability and nucleation in the dilute fluid phase of a simple model of globular proteins [PDF]
The dilute fluid phase of model globular proteins is studied. The model possesses a fluid-fluid transition buried within the fluid-crystal coexistence region, as do some globular proteins. If this fluid-fluid transition is not buried deep inside the fluid-crystal coexistence region the crystalline phase does not nucleate within the dilute fluid.

Inter‐twin delivery interval and outcome of the second twin: A retrospective study
Abstract Objective To examine the association between the inter‐twin delivery interval and outcome of the second twin in a large sample. Methods This was a retrospective study at a single tertiary center between the years 2011 and 2021. The study included diamniotic twin pregnancies at ≥24 weeks of gestation that underwent a trial of vaginal delivery ...

3D-modelling in amniotic fluid evaluation
Selection of the optimal tactics of pregnancy and childbirth significantly depends on the expected volume of amniotic fluid. The amount of amniotic fluid reflects a condition of a fetus and changes at pathological conditions of both a fetus, and an ...

The Association of Amniotic Fluid Cadmium Levels with the Risk of Preeclampsia, Prematurity and Low Birth Weight [PDF]
Background: Cadmium is an extremely toxic metal with ubiquitous environmental distribution. Cadmium is a potent reproductive and developmental toxic agent, and intensive environmental exposure to this substance has been reported among the residents of ...

Supercooled fluid-fluid phase transition in three dimensions from a soft-core potential [PDF]
To study the possibility of a fluid-fluid phase transition, we analyze a three-dimensional soft-core isotropic potential for a one-component system. We utilize two independent numerical approaches, (i) integral equation in the hypernetted-chain approximation and (ii) molecular dynamics simulations, and find for both approaches a fluid-fluid phase ...

A Mini Overview of Isolation, Characterization and Application of Amniotic Fluid Stem Cells
Amniotic fluid represents rich sources of stem cells that can be used in treatments for a wide range of diseases. Amniotic fluid- stem cells have properties intermediate between embryonic and adult mesenchymal stem cells which make them particularly ...
