Damage to cerebral mitochondria, particularly opening of mitochondrial permeability transition pore (MPTP), is a key mechanism of ischemic brain injury, therefore, modulation of MPTP may be a potential target for a neuroprotective strategy in ischemic ...

N-Glucosidation of amobarbital in the cat
N-Glucosidation is a novel pathway of barbiturate metabolism, so far known to occur only in man. A search for an animal model, conducted through in vitro screening, revealed that amobarbital-N-glucoside was formed in liver preparations from the cat. The

Species differences of amobarbital metabolism: dihydroxyamobarbital formation
Amobarbital is almost completely metabolized in animals and man. The major metabolite is 3′-hydroxyamobarbital. The second major metabolite in dog, mice, hamsters, guinea pigs, and rats could be identified as 3′,4′-dihydroxyamobarbital.

Joint Effect of Amobarbital and Response Prevention on Car Extinction
The purpose of this study was to extend previous findings of enhanced CAR extinction with response prevention by demonstrating that extinction may be further facilitated by amobarbital treatment during response prevention.

Abstract Objective Focal cortical dysplasia type 1 (FCD1) is a rare and heterogeneous cause of drug‐resistant epilepsy (DRE) in children. Its clinical characteristics remain poorly understood, and surgical outcomes may be less favorable than in FCD2. We conducted a population‐based study to characterize the clinical presentation and long‐term seizure ...

Drug Critical Limits for Urgent Physician Notification
Critical limits represent quantitative decision thresholds for drugs that require immediate clinician notification and potential life‐saving intervention. United States hospitals lack a national standard for drug critical limits. We collected critical limits from 417 US hospitals across all 50 states and Washington, D.C.; of these, 411 maintained drug ...
