The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

The Nanostructures Of Amorphous Silicas
Abstract Silicon dioxide is an important catalyst material, a mainstay insulator in microelectronics, and a widely distributed terrestrial and marine skeletal mineral. Geologically, it is found in one of a large number of polymorphic crystalline states, but can also be rendered “amorphous” by rapid cooling from the melt through a glass ...

Kieselsäuren, amorphe: a) synthetische amorphe Kieselsäure
The German Commission for the Investigation of Health Hazards of Chemical Compounds in the Work Area has re-evaluated synthetic amorphous silica [7631-86-9] considering all toxicological end points. The critical effects are the inflammatory effects in the lungs. A NOAEC cannot be established for these effects.
