The experimental data on the structure of and the structural defects and structural relaxation in amorphous metallic alloys are reviewed. The elastic and inelastic properties of amorphous metallic alloys and the effect of disorder in the arrangement of atoms on the ferromagnetic properties of amorphous metallic alloys are also studied.

Amorphization by mechanical alloying
Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids, 1990The solid state amorphization methods of mechanical alloying (MA) of mixtures of elemental powders and mechanical milling (MM) of single component powder (intermetallic compound or element) are discussed. The mechanism for amorphization by MA is probably a variation of amorphization by interdiffusion of thin film diffusion couples with the added ...

The present state of knowledge and understanding of the basic magnetic properties of amorphous alloys is reviewed. It covers magnetic moments, exchange interaction, temperature dependence of the magnetization and anisotropy for two categories: metal‐metalloid and rare earth‐transition metal amorphous alloys.

Crystallization of Amorphous Alloys
Metallurgical and Materials Transactions A, 1996Crystallization of amorphous alloys is compared with conventional solidification of melts. Taking account of the temperature dependence of crystal nucleation and growth rates, the links between the two processes are explored. The fundamentals of nucleation and growth kinetics in amorphous alloys are reviewed.
