Surface Magnetization Processes in Amorphous Microwires

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2010
Surface magnetization processes in ferromagnetic glass-coated amorphous microwires with positive, negative, and nearly zero magnetostriction have been investigated. The results indicate helical magnetization in the surface region of positive magnetostrictive microwires and enhanced soft magnetic properties on the axial direction.

Giant magnetoimpedance in amorphous Co83.2Mn7.6Si5.8B3.3 microwires

Physical Review B, 2000
The magnetoimpedance (MI) of a glass-coated amorphous ${\mathrm{Co}}_{83.2}{\mathrm{Mn}}_{7.6}{\mathrm{Si}}_{5.8}{\mathrm{B}}_{3.3}$ microwire has been studied up to a frequency of 11 MHz and varying a dc magnetic field ${(H}_{\mathrm{dc}})$ within \ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}140 Oe.

Magnetocaloric effect of melt-extracted high-entropy Gd19Tb19Er18Fe19Al25 amorphous microwires

, 2020
In this paper, the magnetocaloric effect (MCE) of a high-entropy Gd19Tb19Er18Fe19Al25 amorphous microwires fabricated by melt-extracted method are investigated systematically. These microwires exhibit a second-order phase transition from ferromagnetic to

Applications of amorphous microwires in sensing technologies

International Journal of Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics, 2007
Amorphous glass-coated microwires exhibit excellent magnetic properties that make them very suitable to be employed as sensing elements in devices for technological applications. In the present work, we review a few examples. Some applications are based on the magnetostrictive character of Fe based wires that show also bistable magnetic behaviour.

Structure and properties of an amorphous microwire

Metal Science and Heat Treatment, 1992
,Problems of the production, investigation, and use of a microwire with an amorphous vein structure are discussed. It is determined that the magnetic properties of microwires depend heavily on the domain structure. It is established that a domain-free structure, which is characterized by a high coercive force, is also possible in a microwire.

Giant magnetoimpedance in glass-covered amorphous microwires

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 2003
Abstract GMI was investigated in amorphous Co-rich glass-covered microwires with very low magnetostriction constant. Internal stresses, induced in the metallic core by the glass coating, substantially reduce the magnitude of GMI. To improve GMI properties magnetoelastic coupling was reduced by a careful choice of alloy composition and by subsequent ...

Stress state effect on the magnetic properties of amorphous microwires

, 2020
The dependence of the magnetic structure and the hysteresis properties of the amorphous microwires on the applied load is investigated by the magnetic-optical method of the indicator films and the inductive pickup coils.

Switching field distribution study in amorphous microwires

INTERMAG Asia 2005. Digests of the IEEE International Magnetics Conference, 2005., 2005
A switching field distribution study was performed under different measuring frequencies and applied stresses to distinguish the influence of each on the domain wall potential. The study was conducted on glass-coated amorphous microwires with nominal composition Fe/sub 77.5/Si/sub 7.5/B/sub 15/ and prepared by the Taylor-Ulitovsky method.

Temperature-stable magnetoimpedance (MI) of current-annealed Co-based amorphous microwires

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 2019
Magnetic sensing materials with enhanced performance and low dimensions are significant for various technological and industrial applications. The temperature stability of their properties is one of the main priorities.
