Optimizing magnetoimpedance of amorphous microwires by nanocarbon-induced magnetic anisotropy

, 2020
Approaches to modulate magnetoimpedance (MI) in amorphous wires mostly include annealing, ion irradiation, glass coating and patterning, which are mainly based on induction of transverse magnetic anisotropy.

ΔE effect in amorphous microwires and fibres

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 1999
Abstract The field dependence of the Young's modulus (Δ E effect) has been studied in amorphous microwires, with their glass cover and after glass removal, and magnetic fibres based on Fe. The study of the Δ E effect can provide valuable information about the domain structure and internal stresses in these samples.

Magnetoimpedance of a glass-coated amorphous microwire

Journal of Applied Physics, 2009
A maximum magnetoimpedance (∼66%) was observed at 5.2 MHz in a positive magnetostrictive glass-coated amorphous Co83.2Mn7.6Si5.8B3.3 microwire. Giant magnetoimpedance in this microwire was increased to 129% on short-duration heat treatment by passing four current pulses of amplitude of 100 mA and each of 12 s duration.

Stress dependence of the magnetic properties of glass-coated amorphous microwires

Journal of Alloys and Compounds, 2019
We studied the effect of applied tensile stresses on magnetic properties of Fe- and Co-rich amorphous glass-coated microwires. Rising of magnetic anisotropy field upon tensile stress in Co-rich glass-coated microwires is described by a linear dependence.

Domain Wall Dynamics in Amorphous and Nanocrystalline FeCoMoB Microwires

Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2012
We have studied the domain wall dynamics in amorphous and nanocrystalline FeCoMoB microwires. The domain wall propagation velocity has been found very fast (up to 5000 m/s) for the as-cast sample. Annealing at 575 K/1 h leads to the stress relief and sample homogenization and the domain wall velocity even increases to 5300 m/s. However, the domain wall

Applications of Co-rich Amorphous Glass-coated Microwires for Monitoring the Matrix Polymerization

2024 IEEE Applied Sensing Conference (APSCON)
A remarkable magnetic softness and giant magnetoimpedance (GMI) effect have been observed in Co-rich glass-coated microwires. Insulating and flexible glass-coating allows use of such glass-coated microwires for stresses or temperature monitoring in smart

Giant magnetoimpedance in thin amorphous and nanocrystalline microwires

Applied Physics A, 2013
We present the results on Giant magneto-impedance effect (GMI) in amorphous and nanocrystalline microwires at frequencies until 4 GHz, paying special attention to tailoring the frequency and magnetic field dependence of the GMI effect. Correlation between magnetoelastic anisotropy and magnetic field dependences of diagonal and off-diagonal impedance ...

FMR study of amorphous Co68Mn7Si10B15 glass-coated microwires

physica status solidi (a), 2003
The magnetic properties of Co 68 Mn 7 Si 10 B 15 glass coated amorphous microwires of about 16.5 μm in diameter have been investigated from liquid helium up to room temperature by ferromagnetic resonance at 9.243 GHz. Based on the results of measurements both the magnetic anisotropy constants, the first arising from the stress at the interface between
