Ampelography - An old technique with future uses: the case of minor varieties of Vitis vinifera L. from the Balearic Islands

open access: yesOENO One, 2011
Aims: We report the genetic, phenological, agronomic and ampelographic characterization of 27 minor grapevine accessions (Vitis vinifera L.) from the Balearic Islands (Spain). The influence of occasional climatic phenomena (hailstorm) and the ampelographer’s experience on these characteristics was studied.

Genomic variability in Vitis vinifera L. “Sangiovese” assessed by microsatellite and non-radioactive AFLP test

open access: yes, 2002
Microsatellite polymorphism analysis on 25 different "Sangiovese" accessions was carried out at eight microsatellite loci (VVS2, VVS4, VVS29, VVMD3, VVMD6, VVMD7, VVMD17 and VVMD21). In order to evaluate variability within the "Sangiovese" variety and to

Distinzione di cloni di Sangiovese e di vitigni ad uva da vino mediante analisi ellittica di Fourier, reti neurali e analisi frattale.

open access: yes, 2001
Parameters coming from Elliptic Fourier Analysis (EFA) and fractal analysis of the leaf, were used as input in a backpropagation neural network to distinguish between 10 accessions of grapevine (8 clones of Sangiovese and 2 cultivars: Abrostine and ...

Grapevine (Vitis vinifera L.) Germplasm from Siena (Italy) Includes Rare Strains and Reveals Population Structuring [PDF]

open access: yes
Molecular characterization was carried out on samples of historical grapevine populations that were gathered from within and around the medieval walls of Siena. Forty-nine grapevines were selected based on their age, historical site of growth, grapevines’
