Screening of Ampelomyces quisqualis Isolates Hyperparasite on the Tobacco Powdery Mildew Fungus
2012 International Conference on Biomedical Engineering and Biotechnology, 201212 isolates of Ampelomyces quisqualis from different sources were in vitro inoculated to the center of the powdery mildew colonies on the diseased tobacco leaves, and two parameter values of pathogenicity scales and virulence of Ampelomyces isolates were obtained by counting the numbers of pycnidia and by measuring mycoparasited area on powdery mildew ...

The chsA gene, encoding a class-I chitin synthase from Ampelomyces quisqualis
Gene, 1996Degenerate oligodeoxyribonucleotide primers, designed on the basis of conserved regions of the chitin synthase gene family, were used to amplify a fragment of the Ampelomyces quisqualis (Aq) chsA gene. Subsequently, the PCR product was used as a probe in order to identify and isolate genomic clones harboring the entire chsA gene.

Conditions for pycnidial production and spore formation by Ampelomyces quisqualis
Canadian Journal of Microbiology, 1990On Czapek agar medium, the optimum temperature for spore germination and pycnidia formation by Ampelomyces quisqualis was 20 and 25 °C, respectively. Inoculation of Czapek agar medium with a spore concentration of 106 or 107/mL significantly increased pycnidia formation as compared with medium inoculated with 104 or 105 spores/mL.

Scanning electron microscopy of the ontogeny of Ampelomyces quisqualis pycnidia
Canadian Journal of Microbiology, 1985Observations on Ampelomyces quisqualis disclosed that the pycnidium may originate either from one cell of a single pycnidiospore, or from one hyphal cell. In the first case the pycnidiospore becomes two celled and swollen and a profuse germination of one of the two swollen spore cells can be observed.

OCCURRENCE OF AMPELOMYCES QUISQUALIS ON THE CUCURBIT POWDERY MILDEW SPECIES IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC
Acta Horticulturae, 2010From 2002 to 2006, in the Czech Republic (CR), 585 leaf samples with powdery mildew symptoms collected from cucurbits (mainly from Cucurbita pepo, Cucurbita maxima, Cucumis sativus) were microscopically examinated for presence of hyperparasitic fungus Ampelomyces quisqualis Ces. (Aq).

Stimulation of conidial germination of the hyperparasite Ampelomyces quisqualis
2014This research has focused on novel tools for exploring future application of A. quisqualis in biological control of powdery mildew. For this purpose, identification of specific mechanisms to increase the biocontrol efficiency is considered to be a good method. Thus, some attempts were made to enhance the efficacy of different strains of A.
