Net phytoplankton and zooplankton in the New York Bight, January 1976 to February 1978, with comments on the effects of wind, Gulf Stream eddies, and slope water intrusions [PDF]
Results are given of monthly net phytoplankton and zooplankton sampling from a 10 m depth in shelf, slope, and Gulf Stream eddy water along a transect running southeastward from Ambrose Light, New York, in 1976, 1977, and early 1978.

ABSTRACT Stable isotopes of carbon (δ13C), nitrogen (δ15N), and sulphur (δ34S) provide insights into freshwater food webs, but spatial variation in values of organisms at lower trophic levels often complicate interpretations. This is especially true in river ecosystems, in which hierarchical networks, directional flows, and aquatic‐terrestrial linkages

Fatty acid composition of the Caprellidea (Crustacea: Amphipoda) from the Strait of Gibraltar
The total fatty acid composition of nine species of caprellidean amphipods collected from the Strait of Gibraltar was investigated. All caprellids were characterised by high levels of polyunsaturated fatty acids, mainly eicosapentaenoic acid, 20:5(n-3 ...

ABSTRACT Aim Multi‐faceted and multi‐scale biodiversity assessments and disentangling the factors driving the biodiversity patterns are fundamental for effective protection of biodiversity and prediction of future community changes. Despite its importance, groundwater is still a data‐deficient and under‐studied ecosystem.

INDUCTION OF ANAEROBIC PROCESSES IN BAIKAL ENDEMICS EULIMNOGAMMARUS VITTATUS (DYB.) AND E. VERRUCOSUS (DYB.) (AMPHIPODA, CRUSTACEA) [PDF]
The data confirming the ability of Baikalian endemic species Eulimnogammarus vittatus (Dyb.) and E. verrucosus (Dyb.) to activate anaerobic glycolysis under hypoxia are presented. The differences in the degree and the rate of lactic acid accumulation and
