Multicarrier HF communications with amplify-and-forward relaying
2011 IEEE 22nd International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications, 2011High-frequency (HF) radio communication has been recognized as the primary means for long-range wireless communications since the advent of radio. With its unique features, HF communication continues to be used for a wide range of civilian, government and military applications as a powerful alternative to a myriad of more sophisticated communication ...

Noncoherent Detection in Amplify-and-Forward Relay Systems
IEEE GLOBECOM 2008 - 2008 IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2008In amplify-and-forward single-relay systems that employ an average relay power constraint, one-shot detection at the destination terminal is not optimal when the channel between the source and relay terminals is unknown. In this work, we derive the maximum-likelihood (ML) block noncoherent detector and show that it can be expressed as a reduced-rank ...

Jamming in Dual-Hop Amplify-and-Forward Relaying
IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2015The performance of a dual-hop amplify-and-forward (AF) relaying system in the presence of a jammer is analyzed by obtaining the end-to-end outage probability for the scenario where the system is interference limited and operates in either Nakagami-0.5 or Rayleigh fading environments.

Compressed cooperation in an amplify-and-forward relay channel
2015 IEEE 26th Annual International Symposium on Personal, Indoor, and Mobile Radio Communications (PIMRC), 2015The theory of compressed sensing (CS) is very attractive in that it is possible to reconstruct sparse signals with a sub-Nyquist sampling rate. Recently many researches have applied CS as the channel code, and show its great potential in communication systems. This paper studies the compressed cooperation in an amplify-and-forward (CC-AF) relay channel,

A Practical Differential Receiver for Amplify-and-Forward Relaying
IEEE Wireless Communications Letters, 2014A practical sequence detector of differential phase-shift keying (DPSK) is developed in closed-form for amplify-and-forward (AF) cooperative networks. This detector is applicable for general M-DPSK (M ≥ 2) with arbitrary sequence length N 8 ≥ 1, which includes a single-by-symbol detector as a special case N 8 = 1.

On Slotted Amplify-and-Forward Cooperative Diversity Schemes
2006 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, 2006All previously proposed amplify-and-forward (AF) and decode-and-forward (DF) schemes do not improve with the number of relays in terms of the diversity-multiplexing tradeoff (DMT) for multiplexing gains r higher than 0.5. In this work, we study the class of slotted amplify-and-forward (SAF) schemes.

Performance of Untrusted Amplify-and-Forward Relaying
2013 4th International Conference on Intelligent Systems, Modelling and Simulation, 2013In this paper, we analyze the secrecy outage performance of amplify-and-forward (AF)-based relay networks consisting of a source, a destination, and an untrusted relay, where each terminal has a single antenna and operates in a half-duplex mode. In this network, the common message is transmitted through the relay-path, and the private message is ...

Non-orthogonal Amplify-and-Forward for block-fading channels
2008 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, 2008In this paper, we deal with the amplify-and-forward (AF) cooperative strategy in slot-based block-fading environments. In contrast with previous schemes which assume a constant channel during the cooperative frame (several slots), here, we relax this constraint and assume a classical quasi-static block-fading channel (constant for one slot).

Frequency Offset Amplify-and-Forward Relay in OFDM System
IEICE Transactions on Communications, 2011In the fourth generation mobile communication system, the frequency band higher than the bands already used for IMT-2000 has been assigned. However, the higher radio frequency increases the propagation loss. To cope with the propagation loss, relay transmission has been investigated.

An architecture for amplify‐and‐forward cooperative systems with real modulations
International Journal of Communication Systems, 2009AbstractThis paper proposes a simple architecture for half‐duplex cooperative systems which use amplify‐and‐forward (AF) as a relay strategy and one‐dimensional modulations for source messages. The proposed solution uses the two orthogonal channels of quadrature modulation in order to allow a node to behave simultaneously as a source and a relay.
