Effect of Memory for Amplitude on Amplitude Discrimination
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1959A two alternative forced-choice experiment (2 AFC) in which the observer is asked to state which is the larger of two segments of tones presented sequentially in time, is analyzed as an experiment involving only amplitude memory. Frequency, phase, starting time, and duration information is provided each trial by the stimuli.

Amplitude-only versus amplitude-phase estimation
IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 1990The feasibility of transfer function estimation based on amplitude-only measurements is investigated, and this method is compared with the amplitude-phase (full complex spectrum) method. It is shown that the amplitude-only-based method is a feasible alternative to the full complex spectrum method when the minimum in-phase transfer function of the ...

Amplitude Discrimination in Noise
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1967The experiment was designed to test a general model of the discrimination process. The discriminability of a given amplitude difference (in decibels) was found to be virtually independent of both the signal-to-noise ratio and the frequency of the tones to be discriminated, provided that the ratio of signal energy to noise-power density is sufficiently ...

Unitarity and Production Amplitudes
Physical Review, 1962A development of the N/D formulation of the unitary S matrix is presented for multichannel reactions including production processes. The relevant amplitudes are expressed in terms of helicity amplitudes and the coupled, unitartiy relations of Blankenbecler.

The Calculation of Scattering Amplitudes
Proceedings of the Physical Society. Section A, 1952In two earlier papers a differential equation was given for the asymptotic phases required in the two-body scattering problem. The method implied a resolution of the wave function into eigenfunctions of the orbital or total angular momentum as the potential was central or non-central. This feature can be avoided and in this paper a integro-differential
