Encoding amplitude information onto phase-only filters
Applied Optics, 1999We report a new, to our knowledge, technique for encoding amplitude information onto a phase-only filter with a single liquid-crystal spatial light modulator. In our approach we spatially modulate the phase that is encoded onto the filter and, consequently, spatially modify the diffraction efficiency of the filter. Light that is not diffracted into the

Complex amplitude encoding metalens realizing arbitrary ultrasonic needle beams
UltrasonicsExtending the depth of focus is necessary in many scenarios. Recent progress in ultrasonic applications demands various kinds of foci and poses challenges to science and technologies. Here, we propose to connect individual foci forming an ultrasonic needle beam (UNB) through complex amplitude encoding with super-units.

Controllable perfect optical vortex generated by complex amplitude encoding
Optics Letters, 2022We propose a new paradigm for generating the perfect optical vortex (POV) with a controlled structure and orbital angular momentum (OAM) distribution in the focal region of a tightly focused system. The superiority of the proposed technique is demonstrated with an experiment involving the dynamic manipulation of small particles.
