Orthogonal En/Decoders for Truly Asynchronous Spectral Amplitude Encoded OCDMA

2007 IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2007
In this paper, theoretical results are presented on the modular construction of tree and cascade encoders/decoders of any size for truly asynchronous and orthogonal spectral amplitude encoded OCDMA. Three modular building blocksare proposed and described in detail.

Encoding sinusoidal amplitudes with a minimum phase rational model

2000 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing. Proceedings (Cat. No.00CH37100), 2002
In this paper we present an algorithm for encoding sine wave amplitudes with a minimum phase rational model suitable for harmonic coding applications. Voiced speech frames from different male and female speakers show a very large variation in the number of sinusoids that is present, from more than forty to less than ten in 4 kHz speech.

Novel Building Block for Multiple Encoding and Decoding in Spectral Amplitude Encoded OCDMA

2006 IEEE LEOS Annual Meeting Conference Proceedings, 2006
A novel building block is presented to construct N-stage trees for multiple encoding and decoding by using a single input in spectral amplitude encoded OCDMA. The complete trajectory is discussed from design to successful integration.

Efficient Amplitude Encoded Least Square RTM Using Cosine Basis

Proceedings, 2014
Least square reverse time migration (LSRTM) provides better imaging result than conventional migration methods but the computational cost of common shot LSRTM is high. The phase encoding technique is usually adopted to enhance the efficiency. In this paper, the orthogonal cosine basis is used as encoding function which is an amplitude encoding function.

Optical pulse-train amplitude encoding using a fiber interferometer

SPIE Proceedings, 1993
We demonstrate a simple method to modulate a pulse train of arbitrarily narrow optical pulses using off-the-shelf components. The method makes use of the Sagnac loop fiber interferometer only several meters in circumference.

An Efficient Amplitude Encoding Scheme for Reverse Time Migration

Proceedings, 2014
In this paper, an efficient amplitude encoding scheme for time domain reverse time migration is presented. This scheme uses the orthogonal cosine basis as coding function. Similar to plane wave encoding, the physical meaning of this method is straightforward.

Encoding of amplitude modulation in the peripheral auditory system

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1997
Auditory-nerve fibers synchronize to the envelope of SAM stimuli over a wide range of modulation parameters. Synchronization is found at all characteristic frequencies and shows moderate gain differences between fibers of different spontaneous rate. Modulation transfer functions are uniformly low pass, with an upper frequency limit that systematically ...
