Influence of Turbocharger Imbalance on Subsynchronous Vibration Amplitude

ASME/STLE 2009 International Joint Tribology Conference, 2009
The elimination of sub-synchronous vibration is a major task of rotating machinery engineers. The industry has used applied imbalance to improve stability of vertical pumps which would otherwise be totally unstable. The current interest is for the application of a small imbalance to determine the influence on the level of instability frequency ...

A novel technique to improve amplitude imbalance in mixers

Proceedings. 7th International Conference on Solid-State and Integrated Circuits Technology, 2004., 2005
Stringent I/Q matching requirement and large dynamic range of RF signals are two challenges in low-IF and direct conversion receivers. This paper analyzes a technique in detail used to alleviate both challenges. This technique can achieve a large range of variable linear-in-dB conversion gain easily by incorporating a modified R-2R ladder.

Compensation of amplitude imbalance of resolver signal for PMSM drives

2009 IEEE 6th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference, 2009
This paper proposes a new compensation algorithm for position error due to an amplitude imbalance between resolver output signals. Resolvers are commonly used to obtain absolute rotor position information for motor drive systems in severe environments. However, in actual position sensing systems, rotor position error is caused by amplitude imbalance of

The Identification of Amplitude and Phase in Imbalance Mass of Grinding Wheel

Key Engineering Materials, 2011
Vibration signal produced by imbalance of grinding wheel is a periodic signal that has a same frequency with rotational speed. To identify the signal accurately is premise of balance for grinding wheel. This paper introduces the composition and basic concept of vibration signal in grinding wheel and further studies how to identify process and calculate

Calibration of In-Phase/Quadrature Amplitude and Phase Response Imbalance for Coherent Receiver

Optical Fiber Communication Conference, 2017
We propose an In-phase/Quadrature imbalance calibration method which only uses the transceiver itself for coherent receiver. Experiment shows that IQ skew calibration accuracy reaches 0.2 ps and the method is robust to many practical imperfections.

Compensation of Amplitude Imbalance and Imperfect Quadrature in Resolver Signals for PMSM Drives

IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 2009
This paper proposes a compensation algorithm for reducing the position errors that are due to two nonideal output signals of a resolver in the vector control of a permanent magnet synchronous motor. Practically, a resolver generates periodic position errors because of the amplitude imbalance and imperfect quadrature between the two output signals of ...

Analysis of amplitude and phase imbalances on efficiency of microwave power combiner

2017 International Conference On Smart Technologies For Smart Nation (SmartTechCon), 2017
In this paper a detailed analysis of power combining efficiency for a generic 2" way power combiner is carried out. The analysis includes the impact of amplitude and phase imbalances in reducing the efficiency in-addition to insertion loss. The findings aid in estimating the efficiency of a generic 2" way power combiner using 2 way as a basic unit ...

Design of an inphase and quadrature phase and amplitude imbalance compensation in quadrature receivers

Proceedings of the Fifth IEEE International Caracas Conference on Devices, Circuits and Systems, 2004., 2005
This paper presents a compensation technique for the amplitude and phase imbalance between the I and the Q components of a quadrature demodulator. The proposed scheme allows the implementation of a fully integrated self-aligned tuner for digital modulation systems such as QAM demodulation and receivers.

A 24 GHz IQ-demodulator with ultra-low amplitude and phase imbalance

2017 SBMO/IEEE MTT-S International Microwave and Optoelectronics Conference (IMOC), 2017
This paper describes a 24 GHz quadrature demodulator (IQ-demodulator) using 65 nm bulk CMOS technology. The proposed IQ-demodulator consists of two direct down conversion mixers and a polyphase filter for 90° phase shifting. The two mixers are matched to 50 ohm by an on-chip bias-tee matching network with ESD protection.

Measurement Uncertainty of Beam Parameters Induced by Imbalances of Amplitude and Phase for Antenna Array

2020 Conference on Precision Electromagnetic Measurements (CPEM), 2020
Antenna Array's Beamforms would be influenced by the imbalances of amplitude and phase in all channels. Monte Carlo Method (MCM) was adopted to simulate the beamforming pattern's variations induced by amplitude variations, phase variations and the both, respectively.
