Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Regge analysis of the ππ scattering amplitude

open access: yes, 2012
The theoretical predictions for the subtraction constants lead to a very accurate dispersive representation of the ππ scattering amplitude below 0.8 GeV. The extension of this representation up to the maximum energy of validity of the Roy equations (1.15

Hierarchical Distribution Matching for Probabilistic Amplitude Shaping

open access: yes, 2020
Probabilistic amplitude shaping—implemented through a distribution matcher (DM)—is an effective approach to enhance the performance and the flexibility of bandwidth-efficient coded modulations.

Low-Complexity Near-Optimum Multiple-Symbol Differential Detection of DAPSK Based on Iterative Amplitude/Phase Processing

open access: yes
Differentially encoded and non-coherently detected transceivers exhibit a low complexity, since they dispense with complex channel estimation. In pursuit of high bandwidth efficiency, differential amplitude and phase shift keying (DAPSK) was devised ...

From Shear to Sound: Mechanics–Acoustics Mapping of TPMS Lattices

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) lattices are mapped across mechanical and acoustic performance, revealing that descriptors validated in compression fail under shear. First‐time comparison with trusses included. A transition from porous to resonance‐driven absorption emerges at 25% density.

Amplitude-noise-resilient entangling gates for trapped ions

open access: yes
Noise resilience of quantum information processing is a crucial precondition to reach the fault-tolerance threshold. While resilience to many types of noise can be achieved through suitable control schemes, resilience to amplitude noise seems to be ...

Experimental and Numerical Modal Analysis of Composite Sandwich Structures Using Surfboards as Model Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents an experimental and numerical modal investigation of composite sandwich structures using surfboards as model systems. By comparing different core materials and reinforcement strategies, the study demonstrates how local stiffeners influence vibrational response and introduce characteristic modal features, highlighting modal ...
