Refinement of amino‐acid conformation vs. difference density maps in time‐resolved serial femtosecond crystallography data analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The dFoCC pipeline starts with observed DED and resting‐state coordinates, which are then used to generate a library of triggered states. Correlation analysis of the calculated DED features of each candidate vs observed DED permits quantitative evaluation of candidate structural quality.

Frequency-specific alterations of fractional amplitude of low-frequency fluctuations in adult-onset hypothyroidism

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Neuroscience, 2023
AbstractPurpose Abnormal spontaneous neuronal activities associated with cognitive deficits and emotional dysfunction were found in hypothyroidism. However, routine method employs a relatively broader range of spontaneous fluctuations and would mingle physiological fluctuations contained in specific frequency. In current study we explored how frequency-

Amplitude of low-frequency fluctuations in classical trigeminal neuralgia patients with purely paroxysmal and concomitant continuous pain

open access: yesFrontiers in Pain Research
BackgroundPurely paroxysmal neuralgia (PP-CTN) and concomitant continuous pain (CCP-CTN) are different subtypes of classical trigeminal neuralgia (CTN).

Pharmacological inhibition of the PERK pathway modulates hepatocellular carcinoma growth and immune signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

Optimizing photoexcitation conditions for time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering experiments

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering (TR‐XSS) is a powerful technique to visualize how proteins change their structure in real time after light activation. Selecting the right laser photoexcitation conditions—fluence, excitation geometry, and sample refresh rate—is critical to maximize the experimental signal while avoiding unwanted side effects ...

Purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 for phase separation studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe detailed protocols for the purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 (MpARF2). This protein is fused to an MBP solubility tag and an mNG fluorescent tag and is purified from Escherichia coli. The presented procedures make it possible to study MpARF2 assemblies, which could arise from phase separation ...

Risk Prediction Models for Recurrence After Curative Treatment of Early‐Stage or Locally Advanced Lung Cancer: A Systematic Review

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
This systematic review synthesizes prognostic models for survival and recurrence in resected non‐small cell lung cancer. While many models demonstrate moderate to good discrimination, few are externally validated and reporting quality is variable, limiting clinical applicability and highlighting the need for robust, transparent model development ...

Suppression of Low-Frequency Shock Oscillations over Boundary Layers by Repetitive Laser Pulse Energy Deposition

open access: yesAerospace, 2016
The effect of repetitive energy deposition on low Strouhal number oscillations of the shock wave induced by boundary-layer interaction over a cylinder-flare model was studied.
