A graph for calculating amplitude ratios
Journal of Electrocardiology, 1978Summary A simple graph, making possible an instant read-out of Q/R and S/R amplitude ratios, is presented.

Since the eigenstate-modulated weakly coupled resonators (WCRs) characterize the detected signals by measuring the amplitude ratios of weakly coupled resonant units, the convenient and accurate extraction of amplitude ratios becomes critical for high-performance applications of all mode-localized sensors.

A Maximal Afterpulse Amplitude-to-Main Pulse Amplitude Ratio in a Photomultiplier Tube
Instruments and Experimental Techniques, 2002An amplitude dependence of afterpulses caused by an ion feedback on the main pulse amplitudes in a photomultiplier tube is studied. It has been found that a maximal afterpulse amplitude-to-maximal main pulse amplitude ratio is inversely proportional to the main pulse amplitude.

Degradation of signal-to-noise ratio due to amplitude distortion
IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 1989The effect of filtering on the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of a coherently demodulated band-limited signal is determined in the presence of worst-case amplitude ripple. The problem is formulated as an optimization in the Hilbert space L/sub 2/. The form of the worst-case amplitude ripple is specified, and the degradation in the SNR is derived in closed

BAEP amplitudes and amplitude ratios: relation to click polarity, rate, age and sex
Electroencephalography and Clinical Neurophysiology, 1991BAEP amplitudes and amplitude ratios in 47 healthy subjects aged 4-58 years have been investigated with respect to the simultaneous influence of stimulus polarity, rate, sex and age. The sex effect (larger amplitudes in women than in men) seemed to be most pronounced for wave IV-V amplitude, while the age effects (decreasing amplitudes with age) seem ...

Universality in surface growth: Scaling functions and amplitude ratios
Physical Review A, 1992A scaling analysis of a variety of nonlinear equations for surface growth is presented. It predicts the existence of universal scaling functions and amplitude ratios for the surface width w(L,t) on length scale L at time t and for the height-difference correlation function G(x,t).

Universal critical amplitude ratios for percolation
Physical Review B, 1980The hypothesis of universality implies that for every scaling relation among critical exponents there exists a universal ratio among the corresponding critical amplitudes. If one writes $B{|t|}^{\ensuremath{\beta}}$, ${{A}_{F}}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}{|t|}^{2\ensuremath{-}\ensuremath{\alpha}}$, ${C}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}{|t ...

Amplitude ratios near a Lifshitz point
Canadian Journal of Physics, 2001The susceptibility amplitude ratio in the neighborhood of an m-fold Lifshitz point is calculated using the field theoretical techniques of the renormalization group, in one-loop order. A simple expression for the amplitude associated with the helical (ferromagnetic) AH (AF) branches near a Lifshitz point is also calculated.
