Acoustic Amplitude Ratio Logging

Journal of Petroleum Technology, 1964
Abstract A calibration system is obtained that permits correlation of amplitude data from borehole to borehole regardless of composition of hole fluid, hole diameter, or other both-derived parameters. Two-receiver attenuation logging provides better interpretation of acoustic cement bond logs because of this calibration system.

A graph for calculating amplitude ratios

Journal of Electrocardiology, 1978
Summary A simple graph, making possible an instant read-out of Q/R and S/R amplitude ratios, is presented.

Direct Measuring the Amplitude Ratios of Weakly Coupled Resonators Employing Automatic Amplitude Control

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2021
Since the eigenstate-modulated weakly coupled resonators (WCRs) characterize the detected signals by measuring the amplitude ratios of weakly coupled resonant units, the convenient and accurate extraction of amplitude ratios becomes critical for high-performance applications of all mode-localized sensors.

Universal amplitude ratios of critical sound attenuation

Zeitschrift fr Physik B Condensed Matter, 1987
The universal amplitude ratios for ultrasonic attenuation above and below the critical point are determined for uniaxial magnets, the gas liquid critical point, binary mixtures and related universality classes. For uniaxial ferromagnets also the scaling functions are computed.

Amplitude ratios near a Lifshitz point

Canadian Journal of Physics, 2001
The susceptibility amplitude ratio in the neighborhood of an m-fold Lifshitz point is calculated using the field theoretical techniques of the renormalization group, in one-loop order. A simple expression for the amplitude associated with the helical (ferromagnetic) AH (AF) branches near a Lifshitz point is also calculated.

Universal critical amplitude ratios for percolation

Physical Review B, 1980
The hypothesis of universality implies that for every scaling relation among critical exponents there exists a universal ratio among the corresponding critical amplitudes. If one writes $B{|t|}^{\ensuremath{\beta}}$, ${{A}_{F}}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}{|t|}^{2\ensuremath{-}\ensuremath{\alpha}}$, ${C}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}{|t ...

Surface amplitude ratios near a critical end point

Physical Review Letters, 1991
We provide the first experimental test of the universality of a surface amplitude ratio near a critical end point by measuring the modified critical adsorption amplitude ratio, ${\mathit{R}}_{\mathit{M}\mathit{A}}$, for the liquid mixtures aniline+cyclohexane and isobutyric acid+water.

BAEP amplitudes and amplitude ratios: relation to click polarity, rate, age and sex

Electroencephalography and Clinical Neurophysiology, 1991
BAEP amplitudes and amplitude ratios in 47 healthy subjects aged 4-58 years have been investigated with respect to the simultaneous influence of stimulus polarity, rate, sex and age. The sex effect (larger amplitudes in women than in men) seemed to be most pronounced for wave IV-V amplitude, while the age effects (decreasing amplitudes with age) seem ...
