Sural radial amplitude ratio: A study in healthy Indian subjects

open access: yesAnnals of Indian Academy of Neurology, 2020
The amplitude ratio of sural radial sensory nerve action potential is used as a sensitive measure for the diagnosis of an early distal axonal peripheral neuropathy. There is no age-stratified reference data available. To establish age-stratified sural radial amplitude ratio (SRAR) reference data in healthy Indian subjects. The study was conducted in the ...

Clinically Relevant Outcome Measures in Women With Adrenoleukodystrophy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Adrenoleukodystrophy is a rare inherited peroxisomal disease caused by pathogenic variants in the ABCD1 gene located on the X chromosome. Although the most severe central nervous system and adrenal complications typically affect only men with adrenoleukodystrophy, the majority of women develop myeloneuropathy symptoms in adulthood.

On circular Bragg regimes in ellipsometry spectra of ambichiral sculptured thin films

open access: yes, 2013
The generalized ellipsometry formalism is used for a right handed ambichiral sculptured thin film. The amplitude ratios and phase differences of this structure are extracted from the amplitude transmission ratios.

Diffusion Spectrum Imaging Maps Early Axonal Loss and a Unique Progressive Signal in Neuronal Intranuclear Inclusion Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To delineate specific in vivo white matter pathology in neuronal intranuclear inclusion disease (NIID) using diffusion spectrum imaging (DSI) and define its clinical relevance. Methods DSI was performed on 42 NIID patients and 38 matched controls.

The influence of shear‐velocity heterogeneity on ScS2/ScS amplitude ratios and estimates of Q in the mantle

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2016
Regional waveforms of deep‐focus Tonga‐Fiji earthquakes indicate anomalous traveltime differences (ScS2‐ScS) and amplitude ratios (ScS2/ScS) of the phases ScS and ScS2.

Hip abductors and thigh muscles strength ratios and their relation to electromyography amplitude during split squat and walking lunge exercises

open access: yesActa Gymnica, 2015
Background: The hip abductors (HAB), quadriceps (Q) and hamstrings (H) reciprocal strength ratios are predictors of electromyography (EMG) amplitude during load carrying walking at moderate intensity.

Upturn observed in heavy nuclei to iron ratios by the ATIC-2 experiment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The ratios of fluxes of heavy nuclei from sulfur (Z=16) to chromium (Z=24) to the flux of iron were measured by the ATIC-2 experiment. The ratios are decreasing functions of energy from 5 GeV/n to approximately 80 GeV/n, as expected.

A Prospective Study of Individuals at Risk of Multiple Sclerosis Informs the Design of Primary Prevention Studies

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective In multiple sclerosis, the optimal time for deploying a therapeutic intervention is before the central nervous system is damaged; given the success of trials treating the earliest stage of MS, the radiologically isolated syndrome, developing primary prevention strategies is an important next challenge.

Universal amplitude ratios from numerical studies of the three-dimensional O(2) model

open access: yes, 2002
We investigate the three-dimensional O(2) model near the critical point by Monte Carlo simulations and calculate the major universal amplitude ratios of the model.

Bistable Mechanisms 3D Printing for Mechanically Programmable Vibration Control

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces a 3D‐printed bistable mechanism integrated into tuned mass dampers (TMDs) for mechanically adaptive passive vibration suppression. Through optimized geometry, the bistable design provides adaptable vibration reduction across a broad range of scenarios, achieving effective vibration mitigation without complex controls or external ...
