Intramuscular tendon length in agonist–antagonist myoneural interface components in transtibial amputation: An anatomic study

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, EarlyView.
Interestingly, this study shows that tendons spanned over 75% of the distal muscle belly in all muscles, crucial for the innovative tibiotalar agonist–antagonist myoneural interface (AMI) construction. AMI simulates natural muscle–tendon interaction in amputees, improving prosthetic control despite anatomical constraints.

When rehabilitation is not enough, how targeting metabolism can overcome the limited plasticity of skeletal muscle after traumatic injury

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract There is a category of large‐scale neuromusculoskeletal injuries that result in long‐term functional disabilities, and one such injury is volumetric muscle loss (VML) injury. In addition to the clinical outcomes related to long‐term dysfunction, co‐morbidities and reduced mobility and physical activity, this review addresses several ...

The relationship between upper extremity strength and performance in elite amputee football players

open access: yesBaltic Journal of Health and Physical Activity, 2020
Background: ‪Despite having similar requirements to regular football, amputee football may also require different dynamics due to using crutches. This study investigated the relationship between upper extremity strength and performance in amputee ...

Wearable Haptic Feedback Interfaces for Augmenting Human Touch

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 6, 19 January 2026.
The wearable haptic feedback interfaces enhance user experience in gaming, social media, biomedical instrumentation, and robotics by generating tactile sensations. This review discusses and categorizes current haptic feedback interfaces into force, thermal, and electrotactile stimulation‐based haptic feedback interfaces, elucidating their current ...
