AM/AM and AM/PM power amplifier characterisation technique
15th International Conference on Microwaves, Radar and Wireless Communications (IEEE Cat. No.04EX824), 2005A novel power amplifier's AM/AM and AM/PM characterisation technique is proposed, making use of two-tone test miming a DSB-SC modulated signal. Its main advantage is related to the possibility to extract the amplifier behaviour under operating conditions closer to actual modulated signals.

1997 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest, 2002The AM/AM and AM/PM characteristics of a power amplifier are typically measured in a static manner using a CW signal. For communications signals, the amplitude envelope is varying so the distortion is actually occurring dynamically. This paper presents a technique to measure dynamic AM/AM and AM/PM.
