Seed germination of the halophyte Anabasis setifera (Amaranthaceae) from Saudi Arabia
The main objective of this study was to determine the effects of temperature light/darkness and salinity (NaCl) on seed germination of Anabasis setifera Moq. and the effects of alleviating salinity stress using distilled water. All of the seeds completed germination at 15/5, 20/10, and 20 °C; a higher percentage of seeds completed germination in light

In this study, the tests of phytochemical screening included phenols, tannins, flavonoids and saponins. Total phenolic was estimated by the Foline–Ciocalteu method, total flavonoid content was determined by a colorimetric method. Extracts were also monitored on their antioxidant ability by DPPH and β-carotene bleaching methods.

Abstract Recently, several studies have dealt with the use of plant-derived surfactants in chemical water injection into oil reservoirs as a main method of Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR). Some of the advantages of using them in comparison with using expensive chemical surfactants are being environmentally friendly, cheap and available.
