Yak (Bos grunniens) Meat Peptides: Effects on Immunity, Hypoxia Tolerance, and Antioxidant Capacity in Hypotonic Hypoxia Mice

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 7, July 2025.
Yak meat peptides can increase immune cell content, oxygen transport capacity, and antioxidant enzyme activities in hypotonic hypoxic mice. Meanwhile, they can reduce oxidative stress, thus enhancing the immunity, antioxidant capacity, and hypoxia tolerance of these mice. They also upregulate hypoxia‐related genes HIF and EPO.

Exploring Astragaloside IV in Ischemic Heart Disease: A Comprehensive Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis of Preclinical Cardiotoxicity Models

open access: yesJournal of Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology, Volume 39, Issue 7, July 2025.
This systematic review and meta‐analysis evaluated the therapeutic efficacy of Astragaloside IV in ischemic heart disease, encompassing 18 preclinical studies. The findings demonstrated that As‐IV significantly reduced myocardial infarction size and apoptosis while improving cardiac function and angiogenesis through various mechanisms, along with ...

Examining mixotrophic fermentation in fed‐batch mode for C1‐gas valorization

open access: yesJournal of Chemical Technology &Biotechnology, Volume 100, Issue 7, Page 1453-1462, July 2025.
Abstract BACKGROUND C1‐gases like CO and CO2, significant contributors to climate change, offer the potential for sustainable bioconversion into valuable products. The study explored mixotrophic fermentation using C1‐gases in fed‐batch mode to improve the production of target compounds, focusing on Clostridium aceticum and Clostridium carboxidivorans ...

Glutamine Metabolism: Molecular Regulation, Biological Functions, and Diseases

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 7, July 2025.
Tumor cells adapt to nutrient‐poor environments by altering metabolism to acquire essential nutrients. They convert glutamine into glutamate and α‐ketoglutarate, supporting mTOR activation and sugar biosynthesis. Disruption of mTORC1 signaling is linked to disease, while glutamine and leucine activation promotes cell growth and inhibits autophagy ...

Lactate Metabolism and Lactylation Modification: New Opportunities and Challenges in Cardiovascular Disease

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 7, July 2025.
Lactate, beyond a metabolic byproduct, regulates immunity and inflammation, linked to cardiovascular diseases (CVD) via metabolic reprogramming. Lactylation, a lactate‐driven epigenetic mark, modulates gene expression in fibrosis, lipid disorders, and CVD progression.

Dad's legacy: Epigenetic reprogramming and paternal inflammatory memory in offspring health

open access: yesJournal of Internal Medicine, Volume 298, Issue 1, Page 16-30, July 2025.
Abstract Over the past decade, numerous reports have highlighted intergenerational and even transgenerational epigenetic effects resulting from parental exposure to diets, toxins, and stress. In many cases, these parentally induced phenotypes do not seem to confer an obvious benefit, making it challenging to understand the evolutionary drivers behind ...

Speed Endurance Training to Improve Performance

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Medicine &Science in Sports, Volume 35, Issue 7, July 2025.
ABSTRACT In many sports, the physical dimension plays a crucial role in determining athletic performance. This review provides insights into the effectiveness of speed endurance training (SET), that is, exercise training performed at intensities higher than that eliciting maximum oxygen uptake (V̇O2‐max), on performance across different sports and ...
