Iron‐Mediated Release of Aged Dissolved Organic Carbon From Waterlogged Peatland Under Warming
This study conducts a five‐year in situ warming experiment in high‐altitude peatlands to examine dissolved organic carbon (DOC) release. The study shows that warming promotes the release of plant‐derived modern DOC in drained peatlands, but amplifies aquatic export of century‐old DOC from waterlogged peatlands via Fe‐mediated DOC mobilization—a ...

The Robinson Protocol: A Treadmill Anaerobic Performance Test
The current investigation was designed to further examine the reliability of the Robinson protocol, which is a run-to-exhaustion treadmill test. Robinson (10) originally examined this protocol with 5 subjects. The significance of the initial exploratory study was the impetus for expanding the study to examine the reliability of the protocol with a ...

Probiotic B.p colonization elevated gut‐derived inosine level in the liver, while elevated inosine activated A2AR and subsequently blocked NPs‐induced polarization of M1 macrophages by repressing the miR155/SOCS1/NF‐κB pathway. This reduced the release of inflammatory cytokines and thereby, mitigated NPs‐induced hepatic injury.

Characterization of sludges for predicting anaerobic digester performance
Batch anaerobic digestion tests of primary sludge and waste activated sludge were conducted for a duration of 123 days to determine the ultimate degradability of the sludges. For primary sludges the inert fraction of the particulate COD that was predicted by the wastewater models could be employed to predict their biodegradability under anaerobic ...

Lactiplantibacillus plantarum GUANKE remodels the indigenous gut microbiota and is associated with microbiota‐dependent restoration of circulating IAA. IAA treatment attenuates JAK3‐STAT3 and Jag1‐Notch4‐Hey1 signaling and reduces CX3CR1+Ly6C− monocytic precursor generation and pulmonary CD11b+ DC accumulation, together with reduced Th2 inflammation ...

Effects of inter-set foot cooling on jiu-jitsu anaerobic performance in Brazilian jiu-jitsu male athletes [PDF]
Background: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) athletes often engage in high-intensity, intermittent bouts requiring rapid neuromuscular responses. Inter-set cooling strategies, such as foot cooling (FC), have been proposed to enhance recovery and performance ...
