Fostering Innovation: Streamlining Magnetocaloric Materials Research by Digitalization
Magnetocaloric cooling (MCE) is an environmentally friendly refrigeration method with great potential. Optimizing MCE materials involves the preparation and screening of large quantities of samples, which in turn generates a large amount of data. A digitalization approach is presented that uses ontologies, knowledge graphs, and digital workflows to ...

Digital OFDM-PON Based on Delta–Sigma Modulation Employing Binary IM-DD Channels
In this paper, a delta–sigma modulation is proposed for the orthogonal frequency division multiplexed-passive optical network (OFDM-PON) to enable transmission of OFDM signals via binary intensity modulation and direct detection (IM-DD) channels ...

Low-noise delta-sigma analog front end with capacitor swapping technique for capacitive microsensors
In this paper, low-noise incremental delta–sigma analog front end (AFE) integrated circuit (IC) for capacitive microsensors is presented. A conventional capacitance-to-digital converter (CDC) mainly uses a multi-stage capacitive sensing amplified stage ...

Lower bounds on the performance of Analog to Digital Converters [PDF]
This paper deals with the task of finding certified lower bounds for the performance of Analog to Digital Converters (ADCs). A general ADC is modeled as a causal, discrete-time dynamical system with outputs taking values in a finite set. We define the performance of an ADC as the worst-case average intensity of the filtered input matching error ...

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Soft Mechanical‐Electrical Logic Using Liquid Metal‐Filled 3D‐Printed Architectures
We present 3D‐printed soft mechanical–electrical logic elements that use liquid metal–filled silicone tubes actuated by thermoplastic polyurethane/polylactic acid (TPU/PLA) architectures to produce Boolean operations. Complementary normally open and normally closed unit cells perform repeatable binary transitions and can be combined into more complex ...

Extrapolating Analog-to-Digital Converter
We propose a new type of oversampled analog-to-digital converter. It uses digital extrapolators to predict the analog signal before it is converted, and a coarse quantizer to convert the prediction error.

Enhanced Strength and Corrosion Resistance of Ti‐13Nb‐12Ta‐10Zr‐4Sn Alloy by Aging Treatment
This work systematically investigates the effect of aging treatment on mechanical properties and corrosion behavior of vacuum arc‐melted Ti‐13Nb‐12Ta‐10Zr‐4Sn alloy. Owing to the increased α″ martensite, strength and corrosion resistance were significantly enhanced by aging treatment.
