The visual cortex as a spatial frequency analyser

Vision Research, 1973
Abstract Unitary responses to sinusoidal gratings either moving or alternating in phase have been investigated in the optic tract, lateral geniculate body and visual cortex of the cat as a function of the spatial frequency, position of the grating with respect to the cell receptive field and grating contrast.

Spatial Analyses

2019
Many earth systems phenomena take place over a region continuously by time; hence, the variation is of the spatio-temporal type. The spatial evolvement of the events can be sampled generally at a set of irregular sites or particularly at regular mesh grid nodes as already explained in the previous chapter.

Analysing Spatial Structures

2018
In many cases, multivariate data are collected for entities that are geographically located (i.e., georeferenced). This chapter describes several techniques to incorporate the spatial information in multivariate methods using packages sp, spdep and adespatial.

Spatial Transcriptomic Analyses of Spermatogenesis

Measuring mRNA abundance at the level of the whole transcriptome has become an indispensable tool for the investigation of fundamental biological processes in higher eukaryotes. However, traditional transcriptomic methods are destructive and ignore the three-dimensional organization of cells within tissues and organs.

Leontief's spatial economic analyses

Structural Change and Economic Dynamics, 1995
Abstract This paper provides a brief review of Wassily W. Leontief's major contributions in intranational and multiregional input-output analyses. In addition, the importance of these contributions to today's accounting practices, data collection, and computer technologies are emphasized.

Health and GIS: Toward Spatial Statistical Analyses

Journal of Medical Systems, 2004
This study examined the extent to which health studies, mostly in public health and epidemiology, used geographical information systems (GIS). We identified a wide range of tools they used-ranging from geocoding through simple buffer/overlay functions to spatial query functions.

The GIS Platform and the Spatial Analyses

2019
Spatial analyses, carried out using a GIS (Geographic Information System) platform, investigated the relationship between different environments (from the coast to the highlands) and human settlement and mobility strategies, in a diachronic perspective.

Spatial and non-spatial analyses of insect counts in bulk-stored barley

Bulletin of Entomological Research, 2009
AbstractStored grain insect species in bulk-stored barley were sampled during 15 consecutive weeks in two ways: direct sampling based on grain trier samples and indirect sampling based on probe trap captures. A total number of 22 insect taxa were found; this study focused on the six most abundant species and their natural enemies.
