Stochastically Generated Digital Twins of 3D Solid‐State Electrolyte Architecture

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Digital Twins of random porous tape‐cast solid‐state battery architectures across µm to mm feature sizes from FIB‐SEM to X‐Ray µCT, respectively. Abstract Solid‐state lithium batteries (SSBs) have the potential to overcome conventional Li‐ion batteries in performance and safety.

Analyzing the Unscented Kalman Filter Robustness for Orbit Determination through Global Positioning System Signals

open access: yesJournal of Aerospace Technology and Management, 2013
http://dx.doi.org/10.5028/jatm.v5i4.252 The nonlinear unscented Kalman filter (UKF) is evaluated for the satellite orbit determination problem, using Global Positioning System (GPS) measurements. The assessment is based on the robustness of the filter.

Gaussian‐Sigmoid Reinforcement Transistors: Resolving Exploration‐Exploitation Trade‐Off Through Gate Voltage‐Controlled Activation Functions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The characteristics of a vertical n–p–i–p heterostructure transistor device, which exhibits a voltage‐tunable transition between Gaussian and sigmoid functions, are investigated. The mixed state of the transfer curve enables the utilization of both exploitation and exploration, improving computational performance in reinforcement learning tasks ...

Exploiting bounded signal flow for graph orientation based on cause-effect pairs

open access: yesAlgorithms for Molecular Biology, 2011
Background We consider the following problem: Given an undirected network and a set of sender-receiver pairs, direct all edges such that the maximum number of "signal flows" defined by the pairs can be routed respecting edge directions.

Buckling‐Resistant and Trace‐Stacked (BRATS) Design Enables Aid‐Free Implantation of Flexible Multielectrode Array with Minimized Inflammatory Tissue Response

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Buckling‐resistant and trace‐stacked (BRATS) intracortical microelectrode arrays (MEAs) eliminate the need for insertion aid and complex surgical setup, resulting in minimal inflammatory tissue response, compared to conventional flexible MEAs inserted with aid. Trace stacking effectively doubled the channel count without increasing the MEA shank width,

Segment search for local extremums of images based on the analysis of brightness of adjacent homogeneous areas

open access: yesInformatika, 2019
The problem of finding local extrema on halftone images is considered. Well-known block-search algorithms provide high speed, but they extract only strict (single-pixel) extremes, skipping extreme areas formed by non-strict extremes. Morphological search

SMaRT Stacking: A Methodology to Produce Optimally Layered EMI Shields with Maximal Green Index Using Fused Deposition Modeling

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electromagnetic interference (EMI) shields consisting of polylactic acid (PLA) in layers with different concentrations of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) are produced using additive manufacturing. The permittivity function of layers with different filler concentrations is learned using data of homogeneous and randomly ordered shields.

Complexity of Supersymmetric Systems and the Cohomology Problem [PDF]

open access: yesQuantum
We consider the complexity of the local Hamiltonian problem in the context of fermionic Hamiltonians with $\mathcal N=2 $ supersymmetry and show that the problem remains $\mathsf{QMA}$-complete.
