Saline versus alkaline stresses in paddy soils drive divergent microbial nutrient limitations despite shared carbon constraints

open access: yesFunctional Ecology, EarlyView.
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Soil salinization and alkalization often suppress microbial functional activity, triggering negative feedback loops in microbial metabolism, degrading nutrients and agricultural productivity.

Comparative Genomics and Functional Evidence for Convergent Adaptation to Hypoxia in Mammals

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
This study reveals convergent selection in mammals adapted to hypoxia. Functional assays demonstrate that amino acid mutations reduce oxidative stress, attenuate hypoxia‐induced injury, and modulate the hypoxia‐inducible transcription factor (HIF)‐driven hypoxic response.

Telangiectasia in Systemic Sclerosis Is a Marker of Increased Disease Morbidity and Mortality: Analyses From the Australian Scleroderma Cohort Study

open access: yesAustralasian Journal of Dermatology, Volume 67, Issue 7, Page e431-e435, November 2026.
ABSTRACT This Australian retrospective cohort analysis of 1977 patients investigates and expands on correlates of telangiectasia in systemic sclerosis to determine whether this cutaneous sign is a potential surrogate marker for disease progression and prognosis.

Molecular Heterogeneity in Clinically Ambiguous Atopic Dermatitis–Psoriasis Overlap: Compartment‐Resolved Transcriptomic Profiling

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
Compartment‐resolved transcriptomic profiling of AD, PsO, and clinically ambiguous AD‐PsO overlap lesions reveals molecular heterogeneity, with overlap lesions showing relative alignment toward AD‐like or PsO‐like patterns. AD‐like alignment is associated with epidermal barrier and dermal neural/sensory pathways, whereas PsO‐like alignment is ...

6‐Nitrodopamine as a Novel Mediator of Prostatic Smooth Muscle Function in Mouse and Human

open access: yesAndrology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Epithelium‐derived catecholamines contribute to local regulation of genitourinary smooth muscle function, but the role of the endogenous 6‐nitrodopamine (6‐ND) in the prostate remains unknown. Objectives To determine whether 6‐ND is produced by mouse and human prostate and its role in smooth muscle regulation.

Exact solutions for the time-fractional KdV equations

open access: yes四川大学学报. 自然科学版
In comparison to the integer-order nonlinear PDEs, solving the nonlinear fractional PDEs is more difficult. In this paper, the exact solutions of the time-fractional KdV equation are considered by combining the separation method of semi-fixed variables ...

Compartmentalisation in cAMP signalling: A phase separation perspective

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Cells rely on precise spatiotemporal control of signalling pathways to ensure functional specificity. The compartmentalisation of cyclic AMP (cAMP) and protein kinase A (PKA) signalling enables distinct cellular responses within a crowded cytoplasmic space.
