Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Representing synthetic vs. analytic suffixation in Strict CV in English. Some problematic cases

open access: yesBucharest Working Papers in Linguistics, 2007
The aim of this paper is to present some additions and corrections to a model I proposed in an earlier article (Kristó 2006) concerning the formal distinction between analytic and non-analytic (synthetic) suffixation, couched in a Strict CV framework.

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Management decision making by the analytic hierarchy process: A proposed modification for large-scale problems

open access: yes
Frequently, management decision making problems involve multiple criteria/objectives/attributes. Over the years, many quantitative methods have been developed to facilitate making rational decisions involving multiple criteria.

Did Rorty take analytic philosophy too seriously? [Bral Rorty analytickú filozofiu príliš vážne?]

open access: yes, 2012
ArticleThere has been a myth about Richard Rorty circulated within analytic philosophy for long, which is now being dismantled. The myth casts him as a capricious thinker: someone who betrayed his analytic past by conjuring up a foggy form of pragmatism.

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Neighborhoods of a Class of Analytic Functions with Negative Coeffcients

open access: yes, 2015
[[abstract]]In the present paper by making use of the known concept of neighborhoods of analytic functions we have proved several inclusion associated with the (n,ρ ) neighborhoodsof various subclasses of starlike and convex functions of complex order ...

Putting the Bite Back into "Two Dogmas"

open access: yesPrincipia: An International Journal of Epistemology, 2003
Recent Carnap scholarship suggests that the received view of the Carnap-Quine analyticity debate is importantly mistaken. It has been suggested that Carnap’s analyticity distinction is immune from Quine’s criticisms.

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.
