Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Exponential Synchronization of Neural Networks via Feedback Control in Complex Environment

open access: yesComplexity, 2018
The problem of exponential synchronization for neural networks is investigated via feedback control in complex environment. By constructing suitable Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals and applying the piecewise analytic method, some sufficient criteria for ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

A COUNTEREXAMPLE IN HOMOGENIZATION OF FUNCTIONALS WITH ANALYTIC INTEGRAND [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
We prove that the homogenization in Calculus of Variations of the functional represented by the integrand f (x, xi) = a(x) \xi\(4), where xi epsilon R(2) and a is a measurable periodic and positive real valued function on R(2), has an integrand f ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Analytic cliffordian functions

open access: yes, 2004
In classical function theory, a function is holomorphic if and only if it is complex analytic. For higher dimensional spaces it is natural to work in the context of Clifford algebras. The structures of these algebras depend on the parity of the dimension n of the underlying vector space.

Periodic-type functionals and their extensions [PDF]

open access: yes, 1980
Let Ω denote a simply connected domain in the complex plane and let K[Ω] be the collection of all entire functions of exponential type whose Laplace transforms are analytic on Ω′, the complement of Ω with respect to the sphere.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Exchange-correlation functionals from ab initio potentials [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
An accurate description of the exchange-correlation energy is central to density functional theory (DFT). In this thesis a series of exchange-correlation functionals are developed using new approaches based on exchange-correlation potentials and ...

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.
