Analysis to break down a problem into its constituent components to study their behavior has been the major tool of scientific inquiry to test hypotheses and solve problems. It has proven to be extremely successful in dealing with the world of matter and energy. It has enabled man to land on the moon, to harness the energy of the atom, to master global

A measure of regional influence with the analytic network process
Socio-Economic Planning Sciences, 2011Abstract The metropolitan region is commonly defined by a socio-spatial network of urban nodes that are linked in territory and function. Such a network is differentiated by size and dominance of the linked nodes, characterized by physical or virtual flows of a wide-ranging variety.

Analytical Network Process in Decision Making
2023Analytic Network Process (ANP) is a generalized form of the Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP). AHP is an objective theory of deriving the decision makings on absolute scale values starting from subjective relative measurements perhaps on tangible or intangible or a mix of both rated by the experts.

A cybernetic model for analytic network process
2010 International Conference on Machine Learning and Cybernetics, 2010This paper provides a novel approach to the application of analytic network process (ANP) with regard to avoid the bottleneck problem in data collection through questionnaire surveys. A cybernetic model is firstly introduced to reflect all general targets and related processes so as to set up a generic framework of methodology for an efficient use of ...

A MATRIX METHOD FOR THE FUZZY ANALYTIC NETWORK PROCESS
International Journal of Uncertainty, Fuzziness and Knowledge-Based Systems, 2008In this paper, the fuzzy analytic network process (FANP) is proposed. For achieving this purpose, two problems are highlighted and overcome in this paper. First, the postulate of the reciprocal matrix should be released, because this property is not satisfied in the fuzzy comparison matrix.

Type-2 diabetes management using Analytic Hierarchy Process and Analytic Network Process
Proceedings of the 11th IEEE International Conference on Networking, Sensing and Control, 2014The traditional clinical decision-making was typically a one-way process dominated by physicians. This neglects of other stakeholders' input caused problems in patients' discontent and medical costs. This article presents two multi-criteria methods, Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Analytic Network Process (ANP) to incorporate various decision ...

The analytic hierarchy and analytic network processes
2002Summary: The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is a method for decision making which includes qualitative factors. In this method, ratio scales are obtained from ordinal scales which are derived from individual judgments for qualitative factors using the pairwise comparison matrix.

THE PRIMITIVE COGNITIVE NETWORK PROCESS: COMPARISONS WITH THE ANALYTIC HIERARCHY PROCESS
International Journal of Information Technology & Decision Making, 2011This research proposes primitive cognitive network process (P-CNP), which comprises five decision processes, as an alternative of analytic hierarchy process (AHP). Two published cases using AHP are revised by P-CNP, and the validity and applicability of P-CNP are demonstrated.
