Phylogenetic lineages in the Botryosphaeriaceae [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Botryosphaeria is a species-rich genus with a cosmopolitan distribution, commonly associated with dieback and cankers of woody plants. As many as 18 anamorph genera have been associated with Botryosphaeria, most of which have been reduced to synonymy ...

Effects of Observation‐Operator Nonlinearity on the Assimilation of Visible and Infrared Radiances in Ensemble Data Assimilation

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, Volume 151, Issue 770, July 2025 Part A.
Ensemble Kalman filters implicitly linearize the observation operator, which causes the posterior to deviate from its linear approximation. We quantify the linearization error for visible and infrared radiances and conclude that the linear approximation should not be used for nonlinear observation types.

Let's Sketch in 360º: spherical perspectives for virtual reality panoramas [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Conferência realizada em Stockholm, Sweden de 25–29 julho de 2018In this workshop we will learn how to draw a 360-degree view of our environment using spherical perspective, and how to visualize these drawings as immersive panoramas by uploading them to

Gaussian anamorphosis in the analysis step of the EnKF: a joint state-variable/observation approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The analysis step of the (ensemble) Kalman filter is optimal when (1) the distribution of the background is Gaussian, (2) state variables and observations are related via a linear operator, and (3) the observational error is of additive nature and has ...

qAicedrone‐Roads. A Robust Tool for Road Marking Extraction Using Aerial Photogrammetry and U‐Net

open access: yesThe Photogrammetric Record, Volume 40, Issue 191, July–September 2025.
A robust QGIS‐integrated tool automatically detects and classifies road markings from UAV imagery using U‐Net and Multiview photogrammetry, achieving high geometric accuracy and semantic labeling. This open‐source system supports smart mobility planning and the creation of digital twins for sustainable infrastructure management.

Guidelines for drawing immersive panoramas in equirectangular perspective [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Virtual Reality (VR) Panoramas work by interactively creating immersive anamorphoses from spherical perspectives. These panoramas are usually photographic but a growing number of artists are making hand-drawn equirectangular perspectives in order to ...

Enhancing Aquifer Characterization With Position‐Encoded Hyperparameters: A Novel ES‐SIFG Approach

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 61, Issue 6, June 2025.
Abstract To accurately predict groundwater flow and solute transport, it is essential to precisely characterize the highly heterogeneous aquifer conditions. Ensemble smoother with multiple data assimilation (ESMDA), though widely applied to identify aquifer properties and spatial features, encounters severe problems in practice due its fundamental ...

Anamorphosis in hybrid inflation: How to avoid fine-tuning of initial conditions?

open access: yes, 2009
In order to generate more than 60 e-folds of accelerated expansion in original hybrid inflation, 2-fields trajectories are usually required to be initially fine-tuned in a very narrow band along the inflationary valley or in some isolated points outside ...

Seeing Otherwise: ‘The Least of These’ and Revelation in Jean‐Luc Marion

open access: yesThe Heythrop Journal, Volume 66, Issue 1, Page 54-71, January 2025.
Abstract In his familiar essay in Phenomenology and the ‘Theological Turn’, Jean‐François Courtine writes that the ‘cardinal experience’ of revelatory phenomena would undoubtedly be the incarnation. But in its singularity, this experience, he admits, seems to elude phenomenological thought.
