Paediatric Anatomical Models in Radiotherapy Applications
Anatomical models have key applications in radiotherapy, notably to help understand the relationship between radiation dose and risk of developing side effects. This review analyses whether age-specific computational phantoms, developed from healthy subjects and paediatric cancer patient data, are adequate to model a paediatric population. The phantoms

Bringing Anatomical Information into Neuronal Network Models
For constructing neuronal network models computational neuroscientists have access to wide-ranging anatomical data that nevertheless tend to cover only a fraction of the parameters to be determined. Finding and interpreting the most relevant data, estimating missing values, and combining the data and estimates from various sources into a coherent whole

Sparse Decomposition and Modeling of Anatomical Shape Variation [PDF]
Recent advances in statistics have spawned powerful methods for regression and data decomposition that promote sparsity, a property that facilitates interpretation of the results. Sparse models use a small subset of the available variables and may perform as well or better than their full counterparts if constructed carefully.

Clinical significance of stratifying prostate cancer patients through specific circulating genes
We tested a specific panel of genes representative of luminal, neuroendocrine and stem‐like cells in the blood of prostate cancer patients, showing predictive value from diagnosis to late stages of disease. This approach allows monitoring of treatment responses and outcomes at specific time points in trajectories.

Anatomically informed Bayesian spatial priors for fMRI analysis [PDF]
Existing Bayesian spatial priors for functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) data correspond to stationary isotropic smoothing filters that may oversmooth at anatomical boundaries. We propose two anatomically informed Bayesian spatial models for fMRI data with local smoothing in each voxel based on a tensor field estimated from a T1-weighted ...

Low-cost synthetic model for training and simulation of nipple-areola complex (NAC) reconstruction [PDF]
Introduction: Reconstruction of the nipple-areola complex (NAC) is indicated when this member is amputated in mastectomies to ensure a more natural appearance to the reconstructed breast.

Anatomic demarcation by positional variation in fibroblast gene expression programs. [PDF]
Fibroblasts are ubiquitous mesenchymal cells with many vital functions during development, tissue repair, and disease. Fibroblasts from different anatomic sites have distinct and characteristic gene expression patterns, but the principles that govern ...

The Anatomic Pathology Hospitalist Model
Context.— Challenges to staffing a high-quality frozen section service include consolidation of health systems and pathology practices, off-campus relocation of some pathology offices, growing numbers of stand-alone surgery centers, and subspecialization among pathologists and surgeons.

Using mass cytometry, we analyzed serial blood samples from patients with relapsed epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) treated with oleclumab–durvalumab combination immunotherapy in the NSGO‐OV‐UMB1/ENGOT‐OV30 trial. Our analysis identified potential predictive, monitoring, and response biomarkers detectable through liquid biopsy. These findings facilitate
