On the formulation of the planar ANCF triangular finite elements

Nonlinear Dynamics, 2017
This article is concerned with the performance of two new ANCF triangular elements, namely the four-node mixed-coordinate (FNMC) and three-node (TN) elements. Both elements are based on a cubic polynomial interpolation obtained from a cubic Bezier triangular patch using a linear mapping.

Rational ANCF Thin Plate Finite Element

Journal of Computational and Nonlinear Dynamics, 2016
In this paper, a rational absolute nodal coordinate formulation (RANCF) thin plate element is developed and its use in the analysis of curved geometry is demonstrated. RANCF finite elements are the rational counterpart of the nonrational absolute nodal coordinate formulation (ANCF) finite elements which employ rational polynomials as basis or blending ...

ANCF Analysis of Textile Systems

Journal of Computational and Nonlinear Dynamics, 2015
This paper presents a new flexible multibody system (MBS) approach for modeling textile systems including roll-drafting sets used in chemical textile machinery. The proposed approach can be used in the analysis of textile materials such as lubricated polyester filament bundles (PFBs), which have uncommon material properties best described by ...
