Numerical modelling of anchor losses in MEMS resonators
2012 13th International Thermal, Mechanical and Multi-Physics Simulation and Experiments in Microelectronics and Microsystems, 2012Several barriers exist to the development and optimization of high frequency Micro-Electro-Mechanical (MEMS) resonators, primarily adequate control and understanding of dissipation phenomena. There is growing experimental evidence that anchor losses, which contribute significantly to damping, almost always appear mixed with other less understood ...

Dynamic Pricing with Loss-Averse Consumers and Peak-End Anchoring
Operations Research, 2011We study the dynamic pricing implications of a new, behaviorally motivated reference price mechanism based on the peak-end memory mode. This model suggests that consumers anchor on a reference price that is a weighted average of the lowest and most recent prices.

Results of the Bone‐Anchored Hearing Aid in Unilateral Hearing Loss
The Laryngoscope, 2001AbstractObjectives The advantages of binaural hearing are well established and universally accepted. However, a tendency remains to withhold the benefits of binaural hearing to adults and children with one normal ear. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the benefit of the bone‐anchored hearing aid (BAHA) in a group of patients with unilateral ...

Anchor Loss Calculation for Ring Shape Anchored Contour Mode Disk Resonators
The International Journal of Acoustics and Vibration, 2018Miniaturization is the most sophisticated method for achieving UHF and SHF resonance frequencies in RF MEMS resonators. However, by reducing the dimensions of the resonators, the size of their supports become more comparable with the size of the resonator and anchor loss becomes the dominant loss mechanism, thereby suppressing the quality factor.

Bone-Anchored Hearing Aids for Unilateral Hearing Loss in Teenagers
Otology & Neurotology, 2008Outside of classroom interventions, treatment for unilateral hearing loss in children has been limited. The purpose of this clinical capsule was to report on follow-up of a case series of teenage patients who received bone-anchored hearing aids (BAHAs) to compensate for single-sided deafness.Three patients (2 boys, 1 girl) 16 to 18 years of age with a ...

No anchor loss with altered force application - A case report
Journal of Pierre Fauchard Academy (India Section), 2008Orthodontic anchorage is simply defined as the ability to limit the movement of some teeth while achieving the desired movement of other teeth. However, orthodontists have been striving for the most appropriate methods & appliances to achieve this goal.

Loss of Floy Anchor Tags from Lake Whitefish
North American Journal of Fisheries Management, 1982Abstract Rate of loss of the Floy anchor tag (FD-68C) was estimated as part of a study of the population dynamics of lake whitefish (Coregonus clupeaformis) in Lake Michigan. Estimated tag loss increased from 11.1% for fish at large for 1 year to 20.5 and 18.9% for those at large for 2 and 3 years, respectively.
