FGFR Like1 drives esophageal cancer progression via EMT, PI3K/Akt, and notch signalling: insights from clinical data and next‐generation sequencing analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Clinical analysis reveals significant dysregulation of FGFRL1 in esophageal cancer (EC) patients. RNAi‐coupled next‐generation sequencing (NGS) and in vitro study reveal FGFRL1‐mediated EC progression via EMT, PI3K/Akt, and Notch pathways. Functional assays confirm its role in tumor growth, migration, and invasion.

KLK7 overexpression promotes an aggressive phenotype and facilitates peritoneal dissemination in colorectal cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
KLK7, a tissue kallikrein‐related peptidase, is elevated in advanced colorectal cancer and associated with shorter survival. High KLK7 levels in ascites correlate with peritoneal metastasis. In mice, KLK7 overexpression increases metastasis. In vitro, KLK7 enhances cancer cell proliferation, migration, adhesion, and spheroid formation, driving ...

Humans, information and science

Journal of Advanced Nursing, 1996
The use of information forms the basis of nursing policies, standards and professional codes of conduct Although used intuitively, nurses must now also grapple empirically with information needs often defined by others, and with the technology used to capture and process it Even the briefest contemplation of ‘information’ reveals a truly pervasive ...

BIRDS - Bridging the Gap between Information Science, Information Retrieval and Data Science

Proceedings of the 43rd International ACM SIGIR Conference on Research and Development in Information Retrieval, 2020
The BIRDS workshop aimed to foster the cross-fertilization of Information Science (IS), Information Retrieval (IR) and Data Science (DS). Recognising the commonalities and differences between these communities, the proposed full-day workshop brought together experts and researchers in IS, IR and DS to discuss how they can learn from each other to ...

Science and Information

2023
AbstractThis chapter examines the range of forms of writings in verse designed to serve utilitarian or ‘practical’ needs. The variety of these forms demonstrates the diverse purposes for which such kinds of writings were employed. These purposes include the composition of charms, as well of poems on travel writing, on alchemy, on aspects of science and
